Is that mess you posted on FB, the kids left with your grandparents, your in-laws?!?!

Seriously, how does one let that happen? Are you POed? Details!

I just came here looking to see if she had posted something about it. What the heck were the grandparents doing while that went on? I'd be ticked!!! Your brand new furniture?!?!

Yes, it was the inlaws! Sigh! Thankfully I did not find it. Graham got up with the kids this morning and the first thing Ava told him was that she made a mess. She took him downstairs to see it. He had it all cleaned up before I got up.

I emailed the picture to the inlaws and made Graham call them. the didn't offer an explaination as to how that happened or why the kids were unattended long enough for this to happen. (I assume they upstairs watching T.V?)

Thankfully the kids just unzipped the cushion and destuffed it. So G was able to assemble it all again.

I need to get more details about it and why the kids were left alone long enough to do that. I'm guessing, from seeing they had enough time to stick the stuffing EVERYWHERE, they were down there for a while. Why you would leave a 3 yr old and a 22 month old ALONE for longer than a few minutes, is beyond me. But I had WAY too much to drink last night and got sick for the first time in a loooong time. I feel pretty awful today. As soon as my hangover goes away, I'll call them and get more answers.

I came here for details as well! If that happened to us then I would be very upset. Like you said, that took a while. I cannot imagine why they wouldnt be WATCHING them if they are babysitting! I hope you get things sorted out. For your peace of mind the next time.

I'm glad the cushion was able to easily be restuffed, but man!! To have 2 grandparents there watching the kids and yet neither of them were paying attention? What the heck?

OMGosh. I would have died if I saw that. It looks like A&A were having a blast finding all sorts of fun spots for the stuffing...lol.

Oh, me too! I also wonder how you leave the stuffing everywhere and do not clean it up. I mean they had to come downstairs and get them at some point, right? So, they must have seen the stuffing everywhere.

I'm fairly certain they did not go back downstairs after this happened. My MIL seemed fairly surprised that it occured and apologetic. But I think she was just remorseful for them mess, not for the lack of supervision. I'm so thankful it was not worse too! the couch doesn't bother me, well it does a little since it's BRAND new. But that is replaceable, my children are not. The fact they were unattended bothers me so much more than any damage to my house they could do. Andrew and Ava both still stick random things in their mouths. Our basement is fairly kid-friendly, but you still have to watch the kids! If this was hired help, they would be fired for sure. The inlaws certainly won't be watching the kids again for a long time.

Both of these. When I saw it on FB I wanted to say "those are two grandparents that woulnd't be 'watching' my kids again!" but I didn't want to start too much drama on your page. LOL
