On the 5 year plan...
Hi ladies! :) I've missed you guys but between school, work, housework and then the crazy summer vacation we just had, I haven't had much time to be online...
I am SO excited to see that there are a couple more grads!!!! The rest of you - HANG IN THERE!!! It will be our turn, too, finally, one day... :) :) :) :bigarmhug:
We were gone from TX for 2 months, went back home to visit our families and a whole bunch of friends along the way! Since the end of May we've spent time in: Texas, Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico and back home to Texas...... exhausting but fun..
The past few months have been a roller coaster of conflicting emotions for me. Financially, things are pretty tight and we have the absolute bare minimum of health insurance now, so pursuing adoption or finding a new RE is out of the question.
My healthy-eating-diet/lifestyle went down the tubes during finals and over the summer, haha, so I'm trying to focus on losing the 10lbs I gained, plus a little extra since there's an important wedding we'll be attending next summer... DH's sister. :) AND next summer we hope to go to S. Korea on a missions trip, where the women are all skinny-minny, haha! So I've gotta shape up..!
It's taken me a while, but I'm starting to finally feel at peace with our current state of things... really more JLIH than anything until we get out of school and move in 1.5 years. One nite when I was upset (meaning really sad, bawling my eyes out and basically feeling worse than pond scum, because, at least algae can reproduce:) ), DH and I got a few things hashed out and decided that in the next 5 years, we will continue TTC naturally, continue eating right etc., and possibly pursue more medical testing after school. In 5 years if we still haven't conceived, we'll pull out the big guns and go for IVF or adoption, TBD @ that time.
Just having a specific goal and time frame in mind helped me a lot, rather than thinking, "Oh my good gosh, I'm 25 and have been TTC for 4.5 years and could have another 20 years of TTC ahead of me..." .....seriously, who wants to TTC for 25 years?!?!?!?!?! Sure as heck not me lol.
Even though I'm happy for them, it still stings a little when I hear of close friends who are pg with their 2nd or 3rd child, or their first who was an "oops" baby, etc., but I am learning to manage how I feel and to be content with where I am... on the good ol' FIVE YEAR PLAN haha.... ;)
So that's about all from me... I still lurk to keep tabs on everyone;) but if I start posting regularly, I find that pg.org becomes too big of a tempting time-sucker for me, haha, so I have to control myself...
But here are two sites that I thought were interesting.. the second one had a lot of articles that were especially helpful for me. :)
