    Default Acupuncture anyone?

Just curious to see if anyone has tried acupuncture for fertility here? I have an appointment today with a clinic in Houston after referral from the nurse at my RE's office. I had never really thought of it but she swears by it.

Anyhoo...I'll update tonight and let y'all know how it goes.

I would love to try BUT I hate needles so I hight doubt it. I heard it's really good for fertility! Good luck!

With all this poking and proding we've had going on I'm very thankful I don't have a fear of needles!! DH and I were just talking about that the other day. I asked if he could take off work for my next hysteroscopy and he said "I don't think I can handle watching you get another IV." Big help he is!

We're going to an acupuncturist right now who also does nutrition response testing.. after doing a variety of tests on DH & I, she's decided we currently don't need acupuncture itself, but a combination of nutritional supplements/herbs (pills..haha), change of diet, etc. We'll be evaluated weekly for the next 6 weeks to see if any adjustments need to be made, then every other week for the next 12 weeks. It's possible that we might have some acupuncture thrown in the mix.
I've had acupuncture before & found it very relaxing...minus a little bit of an ache-y feeling at a couple of points. The needles don't hurt @ all (for me anyways) and it just felt like a mosquito biting me almost, lol.
I hope your appointment goes well!!!

DH does it for his fertility issue. After acupuncture for a few weeks, his morphology count jumped from 4% to 8%. I say GO for it. My insurance covers it, however, as a "fertility treatment."

Thanks Liss and Meg. My consult went really well today and I really liked the acupuncturist and his clinic. The only bummer is he doesn't take insurance.

I'm all set for my first appointment on Friday. The initial appointment is 1.5 hours and the rest will be 45 min to 1 hour. I will go once a week until after the IUI. Eek!

I hope it helps you. I started myself about 6 weeks ago and am curious also what other people think about it. If anything, it definitely helps me relax and I always feel good afterwards. Did your acupuncturist recommend any herbs? I am hesitant to begin that, mostly because I am trying progesterone suppositories and didn't want to mix it up too much.

My sister's RE and nursing staff really support acupuncture along with TTC or fertility treatments. They say a lot of women swear by it.

    Best of luck!

I'm not keen on the idea in case they miss a needle and I sit on it or something...I'm clumsy enough!!
Would put a new meaning to being a pain in the Ar$e...LOL

Have heard really good things about it though!
    Good luck!!
