It certainly tries ones patience that's for sure! I'm so sorry you are dealing so much added stress with this process! Take deep breaths and focus on one day, one appointment at a time. Hang in there!! I hope you get your BFP soon and you can get off this rollercoaster!

I gave up on sanity a long time ago. Thankfully the bills aren't a huge issue, my tax return will cover those this year. If we have to progress past 3 IUI's though we will be in a bit of trouble but it will just mean cancelling renovations we want to do. It would all be so much easier if we weren't such a long drive from the clinic, hell I would probably have done three by now if we lived in the same town as the clinic.

I'm just so sorry to see you join us in the 2+ years section... It's just so lousy.

I really hope that IUI works right off the bat and you have a new sibling for your little guy in no time! I know a bunch of ladies that have had successful IUI's! Good luck honey!

First scan Monday, I am scared. Sounds stupid, but I am scared I am putting so much into this and because it is unexplained why I am not falling pregnant that it may not work. I am scared that this has been caused because I had to have a c sections with DS and that the doctor ruined something. I am just scared right now and I know it is stupid. The next three weeks are going to be rough. I also go to the GP tomorrow for the results of the blood work I had for progesterone so I will take those results to the specialist as well.

Wendy - I'm so sorry you have to go thru this. I understand your fears, they aren't stupid. You're afraid they'll find something, and they won't be able to "fix" it - or it will cost too much $. (at least that was always my fears when we first started testing)
when we first started testing, I actually wished that they would find something - something easy to fix - but nonetheless, I didn't want them to NOT find something - b/c they can't fix something that isn't wrong.
Have you had any testing done other than BW? What about the HSG test - where they put the dye thru your tubes to see if there is a blockage? Your situation sounds a lot like my best friend - she had no problem conceiving #1 - but had an emergency C-section at 32 weeks. (her appendix burst, baby was okay, is a healthy 5 year old now!) Well she had a hard time with #2 - after about a year, she went for testing...had the HSG test. They said they didn't find a blockage - however few cycles later (not sure exactly how many, it could have only been 1) she got pregnant. I think she might have had some scar-tissue from C-section that was causing a problem...
(I know that us ladies dealing with infertility hate hearing about how "this procedure" or "that medicine" worked for someone else, and that's not what I'm trying to do here. But her situation sounds very similiar to yours, and thought I'd give my "advice" in an effort to offer support)
Fingers crossed that it's something simple, and you're on your way to a BFP!!!!!! Please keep us posted...I go for an US on Monday!

No testing for me, the blood work I went to a GP for when we thought IUI was off the cards and asked for. My GP and the specialist don't believe there is any issue on my end as my charts clearly show ovulation. I doubt they will do further investigations unless 3 IUI's fail.
I have heard HSGs can often be followed by a bfp, an old workmate had one done in preparation for IVF next things she was pregnant with twins naturally

Yes, I've known several people that have got their BFP after having the HSG. I'm personal super nervous to have it done b/c I heard it's very painful. There is no talk of me doing it, but if we do another few IUIs, I'm sure RE will want to.

Don't you love hearing those stories of people who have infertility for years, and then BAM get pregnant naturally. It gives you hope that it can happen to you too!!!

I wish you all the luck with IUI!!

Thanks Jodie, It was a long day as I unexpectedly had to take Guides last night as well.

Did my scan, it was CD 11 he said my lining was a bit thin and there was one follicle at 13mm and a couple of smaller ones in my right ovary, nothing at all on my left. I told him I don't usually ovulate until CD15 but he didn't seem to listen. I have to have blood tests tomorrow to check for an LH surge and then they will let me know tomorrow afternoon what the next step is, at this stage it is likely to be go up Thursday for another scan and if they are happy with that Friday for the IUI, possibly a trigger shot on Thursday as well.

If it doesn't work this month next time they will make me do a medicated cycle with clonezipam (clomid I believe)
