It's possible you ovulated later than FF is saying. When did you have the progesterone tested? They suggest at 7dpo. But if you ovulated a bit later than your chart is showing you could have tested on the wrong day, thus causing the low progesterone level. I have seen this happen to women before, being told they didn't ovulate and then a week or so later get a bfp. As far as the response your doctor has given you... WTF?!!??!! Seriously???!! Why would you stay at 50mg if it didn't work? My first RE did the same thing to me! Gave me 3 months at 50mg of Clomid, no monitoring (not even a blood test to confirm/deny ovulation). I went back after 3 months and an ultrasound showed cysts so I was then put on birth control pills for a month to get rid of them and move on with the next protocol. While on bcp's I went for a second opinion. Even though you haven't been ttc with a doctors help long, doesn't mean you haven't been ttc for awhile! You shouldn't be brushed off like that!! Is there another doctor in the practice you can see? I'm so sorry you are going through this!! *HUGS*
From my chart it looks like ovulated the day/night before the test. I asked if that mattered and he said no. But I think it should matter, shouldn't it? Doesn't it start low and increase?
I'm considering going back to my md and asking for a new referral. I'm not saying that it's unreasonable to do the 50 mg clomid again. But it IS unreasonable to not do any checking to see if it's working. Why not blood test again next month like I asked? It would take literally NO work on his part, and would be a good check to see if it is working. Why wouldn't he want that?
I don't understand that.
First of all....I cannot believe you're doctor said that to you that is completely out of line. He pretty much is blaming YOU because you supposedly didn't ovulate...that's ridiculous. Secondly, I am no expert but that chart looks like a perfect ovulatory cycle. Your doctor is only human and humans make mistakes. I am wonder if there was a mistake made or what if they accidentally mixed up your results with another patients? I know that sounds completely absurd but trust me that kind of thing has happened before.
Anyways, I am so sorry for the confusion and frustration. I know if it were me I would be so ticked off. Unfortunately all I can do for you is extend my arms through the computer and give you a great big :bighug:
That is a beautiful chart. Did you by chance take your temps later on the weekend? this could falsely elevate your temps. I would bet you ovulated on the 26th and tested your progesterone too soon.
Agreed. I think there's a strong case for you ovulating on the 26th. I'm sure you've been googling already, but here's an article I was reading about it: progesterone article

Thank you for the article. It IS interesting that most doctors would definitely test again the next month to check levels, while mine absolutely refuses. That says alot.
Honestly, I think I O'd on the 26th. That makes it only 12-24 hours before the blood test. So there is no way that was an accurate reading of my luteal phase progesterone at it's peak. (thank you all for explaining that. I didn't realize it started low and increased until a week later) Unfortunately, that means we didn't time the bding right. I really think that we missed it and I won't get my bfp. BUT I think the clomid worked, and that's the big deal right now. I'm happy with that.
SO. I'm going to keep charting. Take my 50 mg of clomid. And in the meantime look for another doctor. I cannot see a doctor that is going to brush off my concerns and not listen to what I have to say about my own body. I'm not crazy, I'm my own rational person, who has valid rational points. He should hear me and be willing to work with me.
I really appreciate all the support that I get from people here! You ladies are all awesome. Thank you. You made me feel so much better! Whenever I have an issue or am upset, I can always count on getting the support I need to get past it. That makes all the difference.
Your chart looks amazing. I will definitely be stalking you for the next few days.
I just want to say EEEYEW EEW EEEEWWW about your doctor!! I got mad reading about their response to your concerns.. completely out of line and so arrogant!
And I wanted to give you HUGE HUGS!!! It seems that you have received some excellent advice from ladies who know far more than I do (or have great resources!! :) ) and for what it's worth, I too agree that your chart looks like a perfect ovulatory cycle.
I am so glad that you're looking into getting another referral - hopefully you can find a great RE who is on the same track as you and willing to work with you!!! :)
I'm so sorry... :-( I have no ideas for you, but I do agree with "trust your body"... no one knows you better than yourself... Hang in there...
