Clomid

Well, I put a call into my Dr. this morning and she decided the best thing for me to do at this time is to try Clomid again. I was on Clomid for 4 months at 50mg CD 3-7 and it made me ovulate, but just didn't get me pregnant. This go round she wants me to be on 100mg CD 3-7 because she said it will better regulate me, or that's her hopes anyways. Anyways, any of you ever been on 50mg then switch to 100mg? How did the side effects compare for you? Were they a nightmare compared to the 50mg? I'm just worried I am going to put my body through something horrendous just to have it not work...again! Oh the things us women do....

Is she willing to try Femera? I know several ladies here have had much better luck with it and fewer side effects.

No matter what - fingers are crossed for you and I'm still stalking away... Smile

I've taken 100mg of Clomid and didn't find the s/e any worse for me. I always got really bad headaches on Clomid, didn't matter what the dose. All the best to you!!

Also heard that Femara is a good alternative to Clomid. Less s/e and doesn't affect the cm like Clomid sometimes can. I've been on Femara as well. Might be worth asking about if this cycle doesn't work.

Oh I hope this will work for you!!! I do know a couple ladies that the second round at a higher dose made a difference. Smile

If you'd like we are having a 'clomid buddies' thread on the clomid board if you'd like to come compare notes and chat about side effects and such Smile

Thanks for the input everybody! Smile

Crystal, first of all...EEEK! I can't believe you are 29 weeks already! How are you feeling? Smile Secondly, Dr. is going to be calling me tomorrow so I will ask about doing Femara if Clomid doesn't work this go round.

Dreamchaser - that's good that you're side effects weren't any worse. I really didn't have THAT bad of a time on Clomid besides the headaches and hot flashes and if that's all I get this go round I am fine with that Smile

Susan - Thanks! I will pop over there and check that thread out! Smile

Michelle I've been quietly stalking you to see how things are going Smile I'm rooting for you!!

I'm feeling ok, big and uncomfortable most of the time but I'd do it again in a hb! Can't wait to meet this little princess Smile

Had I not tried the soy when I did I'd still be TTCing now I'm sure of it. My appointment with the OBGYN had been set for just a few weeks after I got that BFP, here that would mean the beginning of more testing and waiting so I'm very lucky I had a fluke O when I did! I've been praying for the same for you!

My side effects on Clomid were the same at 50 and at 100. Just horrible headaches. I found the headaches less if I took Clomid at night.

Ditto Rachael.. altho I must admit, I never took 50mg, just 100.
But taking it at night is what worked for me.. if I took it in the morning or during the day I would get headaches, mood swings, be incredibly emotional, blurry vision, extreme fatigue, the works.... taking it at night just helped me sleep better tho, it seemed lol.
It definitely brought on ovulation for me - lots of ovulatory cramps and lots of little follies! Smile
Good luck, girlie!!! Smile
