    Default Holy ovaries Batman!

Well, got a new symptom from Clomid. Horrible....horrible ovulation pain this morning. I read all about painful ovulation with Clomid when I took it the first time at 50 mg but I lucked out because I didn't have any pain at all. This morning it was like AF type pains (STRONG) in BOTH ovaries and not just one. So I am wondering if maybe I released two eggs, one from each ovary? I hope so...maybe they will give me a higher chance of conceiving. Our bding timing was perfect this month and now I am in the dreadful 2WW. Now to try and stay busy for the next two weeks. Oh...not to mention my BBT thermometer went kaput on me, so I guess I won't be temping this cycle :P

I'm not glad you are in pain, but I AM glad to hear it's not just me!!! I have been having wretched cramps for the last 6 days. They are odd. Not gas pains, not af pains. It just feels like someone is squeezing my ovaries and uterus painfully. Or someone blew up a large balloon in there. Super bloated and hurts. Really super fun.

The cramps were bad the day before and day of ovulation. Then I started feeling bloated, and then new cramps and that seems to be getting worse every day. Today my jeans hurt.

I didn't know about this side effect. I'm glad to know that it could be the clomid! I thought I might be out already...

Lily2006, I remember experiencing ovulation pains was with my first Clomid cycle. It felt like really bad gas and bloating. It hurt to sit down there was so much pressure! For me it went away after a day, but did leave my ovaries feeling a bit tender for another day or so. Made bd'ing very very uncomfortable! All the best in the 2ww!!!

Susan, I had a cycle (it was with a combination of Clomid and injectables) that was similar to what you are describing. I had horrible bloating and the pressure was building up so that I could feel it in my chest and had to sit in certain ways just to breathe easier (it started a couple hours after my IUI). My pants were tight, and I gained 5.5lbs literally overnight! I had symptoms of OHSS (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome) even though I only had 2 follicles that cycle. I was told to wear loose fitting pants (around the waist), drink plenty of fluids including gatorade. I believe it was to get rid of the fluid build up in my low abdomen. It was the most uncomfortable few days I ever experienced during my ttc journey. It's rare to have happen when there are only 1 or 2 follicles, it usually happens when doing IVF and there are multiple follicles. However it did happen to me, which is why I'm sharing my experience. The pain and discomfort lasted a few days. I just thought I'd share because you mentioned you've been feeling this way for a few days now and when you mentioned the jeans being tight it reminded me of that cycle. I think it wouldn't hurt to increase your fluids and add some gatorade and see if it helps. If it doesn't get better or if it gets worse I'd call the doctor to let him/her know. I see you are halfway through your 2ww! All the best!!!

Thanks so much hun. It's actually a bit better today, but still bloating, and pressure. Cramps are not so bad. I hope that doesn't mean that clomid won't be a good fit for me.
I did have a huge temp spike today, so I think that's good!

Are you doing any better Michelle?

Thanks for your Clomid input! It's always nice to see how others reacted to the medication.

Doing much, much better today. Tonight it feels like I am having light AF pains but other than that I am feeling more like myself...thank goodness!

I'm glad you are both feeling better now.

I like that temp spike!! I think you're okay with the Clomid Susan. I was on a combination of meds including injectables when that happened to me. I didn't mean to scare you or anything. After seeing you mention that your jeans were tight from the bloating I thought I should share my experience and let you know to drink lots of fluids in an attempt to make the bloating and pressure go away.

Oooh! I'm gonna be stalking your chart... it's looking so pretty...!

When I had my 2 Clomid cycles, I experienced the same as you - terrible cramping and bloating. I felt like with every step I took, I could FEEL MY OVARIES which was an uncomfortable sensation, to say the least. ...so I hung out around the house in DH's sweats and baggy basketball shorts until the bloating died down a couple days later. From the u/s we had both times, there were 3-4 good sized follicles on each ovary, plus the tiny ones that didn't get to mature fully.. gosh no wonder.. We had other issues going on so didn't get our BFP then, but hot dang, yes, Clomid can definitely help you ovulate, no doubt about that lol.

No worries, it was interesting to read about, and actually reading some more, it looks like it was all definite signs that my ovaries were working, which, in itself, is one of the most exciting things TTC wise that I've had in the last 3 years! So thank you. The day after I was writing about it, the swelling started to go down and the cramping decreased. And now my pants fit. lol

    Thank you Michelle! : )

I am desperately trying not to obsess over symptoms lol obviously not working. I have sore breasts and nipples which has only ever happened when I was pregnant before. But, I could have never noticed before because my body wasn't doing the right thing, or making the right hormones. Mostly, I'm very pleased that my body is doing things that resemble what a normal woman's body does. That in itself is very very exciting for me!
I think I'll cave early and test on new years eve (will be 10dpo). It wouldn't be as awesome as a christmas bfp...but a new year with a new bean would be super awesome. I know it's not likely, but just that there is a real chance this time is awesome!
