Default I got a donor (IVF), mixed emotions (child ment)

Good news, we got a donor profile to look at and she's super young which is great! Although I'm having mixed emotions because this is such a hard thing to go through. There are some things I like about the donor and others, well, I dunno. I guess I'm worried about skin coloring because we are super fair and she's medium skin tone. On the plus side, she's available to start ASAP, very healthy, and my 44th birthday is looming ahead. I don't want to spend months & months being picky about a donor and losing even more time. KWIM?

We're nearly close to saying "yes" and starting the real deal possibly end of December. I'm currently doing my "Mock Cycle" now and the clinic has been saying they had a good match in mind for us.

I guess I'm just so nervous about all of this and I know I'm not the first person to worry about biological looks. So someone just shoot me for being a silly worrier.

Well this is a huge decision and I think you need to have everything in order before you make it. I don't think you are over reacting...this is a lifetime decision. However, I'm soooo excited and can't believe how quickly everything went. My only advise is to follow your gut...

We're actually quite lucky in regards to how fast we're moving, was reading earlier that some donor cycles can take up to 6 months or more.

We'll go with our gut instinct... thanks

And it also feels good helping the donor achieve their dreams too, college, etc.

How cool that it happened so fast! I agree with Marisol, go with your gut feeling. Good luck, girl, I really hope everything goes smoothly and that you're holding that baby in your arms soon!

    Thanks Mary...

I phoned them today and said "Let's do this". They said she's smart, funny, and a lot like me. They also said she's on BCP pills now, so it should be easy to get us both on "track". Possibly starting the IVF cyle on Dec. 24!!

    How awesome is that?
