Hi! Joined this site roughly 5yr ago when DH & I began this journey. Took 3yr hiatus after things didn't happen so easily for us. Back now... Past the really raw stages & now in need of the support this site has to offer! DH & I have an appt with local OBGYN next Tuesday to discuss fertility treatment--specifically, the one's that we are able to move forward with right away. By the way, we are dealing with MIF. DH #'s, last time we did an SA were 4mil per mil. We are hoping his numbers are high enough to go for an IUI. My guess is we'll both need to undergo add'l testing as I have only ever had blood work done & DH hasn't had an SA since 2008.
Any IUI'ers out there that can tell me if there is a particular # requirement for this procedure? Anything else I should be prepared for...?
Hello and Welcome back!
Every clinic is different, but I believe the standard is 10 million post wash for IUI's.
All the best at your appointment!
We had our visit with my OBGYN, he referred us to an RE (appt next Thursday), but he seemed to think that with DH's numbers, our best bet is to skip straight to IVF. He was very sensitive, yet very forthright with us, which was a breath of fresh air. We are excited, yet very nervous... it feels like it's all going to happen very fast now that we have wrapped our minds around the possibilites.
Trying to stay realistic & optimistic!
All the best to you and your husband!
