    Default IUI tomorrow!!

My lefty was at 21 today so instead of waiting to see if I would O on my own (LH surge today) they gave me the ovidrel shot (trigger HCG shot). It's the first time I've had the shot and apparently it can slight improve your chances as it helps the body produce more progesterone early on.

So after tomorrow I get to test out a trigger shot for the first time! Yay!

    Thanks!!

Stupid question/thought I just had though - the trigger is HCG - does that mean I will get early preggo symptoms for the next week or 10 days??

I've got everything crossed for you! I've had Ovridel shots with both IUIs so far, and yes they caused early pg symptoms for me. Nothing major, and it was only for a few days as the level went down. On the first cycle when my progesterone was low they had me take a 2nd shot, so that goes with the possible boost to progesterone.

Yay for a good follie!!! Yes, the trigger will make you feel pregnant some more than others. I always felt dizzy, bloated, nauseated, headaches, crampy. All that fun stuff.Other people are only mildly affective. My best advice would be to test it out with FMU every day and then you will know when it is truly gone. Do you know how many units you had? Are you going to be taking progesterone too? If so that just adds to the pregnancy symptoms Good luck!! I will be stalking you!!!

I got just one vial/shot which I think was 1000iu or 250mg? I don't know about the progesterone - I will find out tomorrow at the IUI as I did last time.

I actually had no symptoms with Ovidrel, EXCEPT for intense cramping right around O! So, hopefully, you won't feel anything! And, P.S., I never tested out the HCG. Mine went down, down, down to a slight line, then right back up! Hopefully you'll never see a BFN again. Prayers for you!!!

    !! m/c ment !!

I love statistics and comparisons!! With my cycle in Feb 2011 my eggie was 25mm the day before IUI and that was the successful cycle I had with the chemical pg. When I did IUI/Injectibles back in Sept 2011, my eggs were only 18mm each and I surged a day early (CD13) which apparently happens in 20% of cases. So...this egg is right in the middle and I didn't even surge on my own yet which is apparently good. Maybe the time it worked it was just a little too mature, and the last time they weren't mature enough? I'm probably over analyzing it!!

Also, the doc said in addition to using the trigger shot to increase the progesterone, the two smaller follies (14/15 now but may hit 18 by tomorrow) on the right will probably release as well will mean my progesterone will be even higher which is good! Too bad that side is blocked!

And DH is coming with me tomorrow! Other times he had to be at work and could not come for the actual IUI but he said he would tomorrow! Yay!
