Default Pain at LAP incision site?

Hey girls. Since I know a lot of us have had LAPs or other surgeries, maybe you can advise?

Since yesterday the area around my incision site that was in my navel is very tender and sore. No redness/heat so I don't think it's any kind of infection on the inside or anything. Just very sore and tender for about an inch all around the scar. It's been about 7 weeks since my LAP.

The only thing I can think I did was Yoga yesterday, but it was very gentle and it was mostly a leg/hip class and we didn't do any abdominal work or stretching. I just started back at the gym in the last week, but really only doing cardio right now and the Yoga yesterday.

Anyone had this happen before? It's really starting to annoy me. When I get up/down I feel like I have to hold my tummy or it will split open?? If that makes sense?

Yup! I have had that... took a couple of months to totally go away for me.

Mine are still kind of sore if I bump into something, but don't usually hurt in the way you described. Hopefully it was just the yoga and the pain goes away soon. That can't be fun!

I'm assuming that area will be sensitive for a while. That stinks...

Thanks girls! I guess when they cut through your abdominal muscles, it's bound to hurt for a while. I'll just have to go slow when I decide to start doing more sit-ups again!

You crazy awesome woman! I'm impressed with your dedication to sit-ups & exercise, I must say.... I'd use any kind of surgery as a good excuse not to do anything for, oh, @ least a month, maybe 2 hehe
