Tri 21

So I had a letter today saying that the results from my d and c on the twins was tri 21. Downs.
I guess it was a blessing in disguise.
You see to me downs children have a good quality of life and to have a child with downs would be a blessing. To m... It freaks him out and he wouldn't be able to deal.
So god helped us both there.

Liz - I am glad you have answers but I know it doesn't make the loss any easier. Do you mind me asking how long it took to get the results? My results are not in yet from my D&C and I was just curious. I've heard 6 wks to 6 months.

Danny... It was just over 7 weeks I think.
Not too long a wait.
We are told about 3 months normally but for some reasonthey do it quick for me.

I just continue on as we are doing.
Having a tri 21 m/c doesn't mean the risk is any higher. Like the tri 16 from the last one... There is no higher risk.
Mr H actually says in the letter that it is reassuring there us no underlying cause.
These are very common causes if m/c.
Tri 21 to me is sadder as many downs pregnancies do result in loving children and I find it sad I couldn't love them in life but I am guessing they were maybe too much downs to survive.

My new consultant who we saw the other week is testing me fir other stuff but he thinks it's just my hyper fertility which we have a plan of action on.
He says that out of the 4 chemicals he thinks at least 2 would have been fine but with the hyper fertility it didn't give my uterus time to build up a snuggly lining.
Cyclogest from 2 or 3 dpo will combat that.
And for the other tests there are solutions too if they come back positive. A op for scarring uf I have it and foluc acid boost for the other things....can't remember what they were. Will let you know properly when I have that letter.
So it's not so heavy.
Downs ... To me... Isn't a bad thing... I mean look at the tv show American horror story.
The little girl on that has downs and she's amazing.
Downs isn't the end of the world fir mother ir child. Plus they're the kindest most loving people.

My only problem with downs is m's lack of understanding and I am not sure how he would cope. I know he wouldn't want me to continue with a downs pregnancy.
And you see.... I would!!!!!!
Maybe that's why the twins chose to go with my mum and their siblings?

i'm sorry about your tri21 losses. getting an answer is a huge part of moving on, or at least it was for me. hang in there. sounds like your doc is really on-top-of-it for you. my re said my tri18 wasn't an indication of anything but perhaps low egg reserve, which he ended up being right about.

dannyt - i took one month for me to get the results from my d&c back. my doc pressured the labs to get it done, as it was very important to me. your doc could be some help in getting the lab work back soon. i didn't get the results myself (no letter) but got a phone call as soon as the lab sent results to the doc. i'm so sorry you had to go through what you did. results are so important.

Liz Im glad you got your answers. The thought of taking care of 2 downs baby is alot. You are an amazingly strong woman and I applaud you for that.

Danielle my D&C took 2-3 weeks. I had it done at Johns Hopkins and their pathology lab is amazing. By the time I started my next cylce I had my results and started treatment.

Aww thanks girls.
I guess I just feel like I would be equally blessed having a child with or without downs as long as the child's happiness is not compromised.

I can totally relate to your situation with the you being okay with a special child and M not being okay with it. I feel the same with DH. I currently wonder if Jacob gets diagnosed with ADHD and Daniel diagnosed with Autism (I highly suspect both in each)... what will become of our marriage? Can Brad handle it?

But at the same time, we have the blessing of having them in our lives.

I am thankful that you have been given a proper reason for the loss. I wish I could have had that on mine. But even if I opted for the D&C (Doc's first recommendation at 6.5 weeks with no HB) there would have been nothing to test as the baby would have been too small. I will never know what caused my loss. But when I get my mother's necklace it WILL have the birthstone for that baby, cause I mothered it for a short while at least.
