I've had lots of early U/S (due to bleeding) and they've never mentioned amniotic fluid levels until later. Placenta only starts to get mentioned around 12 weeks.

When I had my u/s at 6 weeks with DD2 the HB (around 100) seemed so fragile and low compared to the 160 I saw at 8 weeks with DD1. Although I knew I wasn't having a loss at that time, I didn't have much faith until I had my 8 week one and the HB was 140.

I would wonder if your doctor is used to U/S this early. 112 is fine for 6 weeks but low for 8 weeks.

Thank you all very much. You made me feel tons better.
I'm not sure how I feel about the dr yet. I really don't want a dr who will make any anxiety I have worse. (esp if it's for no reason)
We scheduled a repeat ultrasound for next monday morning. I will be eight weeks then. I think maybe that will get us a better look at things.

I also remember it being a little bit of a worry with my other two, as their hb's were at the lower end of normal the whole time. Maybe it's just the way my body makes babies?

I am not sure, but I'm really just trying to not stress too much. And drink some water, to try to keep hydrated and my fluids up!

    Thanks again ladies

    Ditto what everyone else says.
Never heard of the fluid being checked that early and the heartbeat seems spot on to me.
    Huge hugs!

I agree with the others. I've never heard of amniotic fluid being checked at such an early stage in pregnancy. I would think based on everything you do know from that u/s that all is well! All the best at your next u/s next week! I hope that you will be reassured that everything is perfect and on target!

    7 Weeks, 6 days

    6 weeks, 3 days

    Well this was frustrating.
Obviously we can tell the baby is growing, which is great. The HB was 146bpm so that is awesome for just about 8 weeks, and has sped up dramatically.
But bcs the hospital officially won't let techs give results, they wouldn't tell me how many weeks/days the baby is measuring.
Also, my uterus doesn't look like it has a bigger space, the black doesn't look any bigger than a week and a half ago. I'm not sure if that means anything.

So. Deciding if I should feel better and be thrilled that the baby is bigger, and heartrate is great. Or if I should still be scared because of my uterus and the lack of measurement. Arg. Dr will get results tomorrow(ish). I hate waiting!!

    Firstly...Awesome news!!!!
That all looks amazing to me!!
Secondly...did they say that the black doesn't look any bigger? or are you going on what you are seeing?
Because to my eyes it looks like its ratio is the same in the first as in the second which means yes it is bigger it just fits your baby.
Does that make sense...looks spot on to me.

When will doc contact you and when are you getting a different one?
Sorry read the answer to this.

    Looks great to me!!!

I have had a lot of ultrasounds in my day and an good healthy heartbeat overrules any other concerns I have (and for me 2 u/s in a row with a heartbeat is when I start to feel like things are going to be okay).

What they are measuring is pretty tiny still, so you never know if this u/s tech could have used different settings then the last one (more magnified last time, could look on paper the same size as 2 weeks ago, kwim?)

I know it's tough to start to breath easy - but I think you will be getting good results soon!
