We all need to hit the lottery

We all just need to hit the lottery, big time, like a million each will do. Dealing with infertility is difficult as it is but everything costs so much money. IUI, Invitro, Egg Donor, natural & alternative methods and supplements, pee sticks, and so on. This getting preggos thing really adds up especially when it takes forever. The worse is that I've been researching adoption, both international & domestic, wow that costs are unreal. After today, I think our adoption option is out because of our payscale, etc. We won't be able to move houses and will wipe out all our savings just to adopt.

So yeah, a million dollars will be super handy right now. Who's with me? Smile

Here Here..
I won £2.80 on the Euro Millions the other day..LOL
Its rolled over again to something silly like £167,000000.
If I win I will give all your names and say it was a syndicate so we can avoid tax..okay!! Smile

LOL Liz.

Ya know, now I get why celebrities can get babies super easy, because they're rich! Did the math for Russia adoption, costs around 38-50k!!! Three trips required there now. Domestic adoption, sliding scale, 15% of one's income (guestimate for us is 30k+). We cannot do adoption & move at the same time. I just feel like I'm watching some dreams die because we just don't have $50k.

We started talking about IVf again but refuse to go back to the same clinic as before. The only other one near us has been closed and there is another near but all OOP (out of pocket).

Yup, need to win that lottery....

Its madness really.
These children need good homes who can support them but if you find that sort of money it leaves you broke with no nest egg and you have to live by the skin of your teeth.
Its almost like Adoption is for the rich only...when to be honest some are not good role models!!
The world is a tad Fecked up eh?

Liz, speaking of lotteries, I read about the UK lottery for Invitro! Some are raising a huge stink over it.

P.S. I just read that China adoptions can take up to 4 years. WTH??? We're so not doing international adoption, gone are the days when it was easier.

I'd like to win the lottery too! Biggrin I don't even need a million, just a couple thousand will do us just good. Just enough for us to put some on the mortgage to pay it down faster and afew thousand to do afew rounds of IUI (or until we get a BFP). Biggrin

I thought that under the NHS, you can get three rounds of IVF covered but maybe not.
We could sure use that here.

THe free 3 IVF treatments are dependant of postcode also.

Its already a lottery...we call it the postcode lottery..its the same with some cancer treatments here too..if you are in the right area....

You're telling me! Even our 20% of all of these procedures is financially daunting. And I received 4 bills this week in the mail- 2 from my RE, 1 from the laparoscopy anesthesiologist, and 1 for bloodwork. This is crazy!! And I have another hysteroscopy coming.

I sooo know what you mean!!!! We're still relatively young (ok, I was told we're still "babies" today by a sweet little old lady haha) & are paying off disgusting student loans still... to finance an adoption we'll have to take out a personal loan and save save save..!! For the program we've been looking @ it won't cost much more than $25k which I figure is about how much alot of folks spend on a brand new car... still tho, we've never bought a brand new car - we buy used - because we can't really afford it.. Fool
Hopefully we'll get pg w/help from our acupuncturist & can postpone adoption til we've @ least got our student loans paid off....
