Glad you stopped by Deirdre! GL to you @d feel free to hang around.
Jean I have to share a funny from today. My DH nd I were discussing the process he referrs to as Turkey Basting better known as IUI. He stopped and said you don't really like that name, what if we call it 'Baby Batter Blaster'......
I sat there laughing as there are these cans of pancacke batter they called Batter Blaster - ready made aerosol pancakes!!
Funny image to hopefully make you laugh!

Okay - I am having a little bit of an anxiety situation. I NEVER test OPK + till day 13. It is day 12 and had a nice OPK + this am. My IUI is scheulded for Tuesday day 14. I am afraid I am going to miss this IUI.
Anyway - I know my DH and I can BD today, but since I already have an OPK+ (and ovary pain) should we go ahead and BD tomorrow too even though the IUI is scheduled for Tuesday?
I don't know if on these CLOMID cycles if you can ovulate on your own and then have additional ovulation with the HCG shot....anyway, just a little nervous we missed this cycle now because the RE set the appt day 14

Don't panic yet! Are you still taking clomid right now or within the last day or so? (Or are you taking it right up to trigger?) Clomid WILL absolutely cause false positive OPKs, as will other FSH drugs, because the surge of that hormone is what the OPK is testing for.
More info in the links below. These assume Clomid without trigger, so they talk about when to use OPK, but generally you have to be off Clomid 3-4 days or so before you can use an OPK.

Google "clomid cause positive ovulation test" and you'll find more of the same. Does it mean you couldn't possibly O early? No, it is possible. But the OPK probably isn't going to help. I know with the Follistim, I also had a ton of EWCM for days before the trigger. I didn't even really try to figure out exactly when I O'd this cycle. The next one I'll probably go back to temping to see what it shows. With the ovary pain thrown in, that could also be from the effects of the drug. They can swell and feel very uncomfortable. What did your u/s up to now show? If DH's count is usually good, you can probably BD tonight just to cover your bases, but then not tomorrow so DH is good for the IUI.
I'm keeping everything crossed for you for your IUI!!!![]()

Jean - Thank you for the very good information on clomid causing false positives on OPK tests. This process has so many surprises and there is so much to know.
I figure I am charting and we will BD as we would without the IUI and just assume the IUI is an added chance (except for the 24 hrs my dr recommended to hold off).
My US is Tuesday morning, so we'll see how things look, my last US was CD 5 when I started clomid. I'm much calmer now, but still having O pain. I had this pain last cycle of clomid as well but it started earlier around cd8 not cd 11/12 so I guess I should not be surprised it is starting again.

I'm always learning new stuff about all this, too. There seems to be WAY to much to know!
Sounds like a good plan to me. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that your u/s tomorrow shows good things and leads to your BFP in a few weeks!

Entire process went well. I had some cramping with the IUI, but just for a couple of minutes. They had me lay on my back for 10 min then on my stomach for another 5 or 10 minutes after the procedure. That was a new one for me, I hadn't read about flipping over!
I have 3 good follies 19, 21 & 22. My DH was a champ about the entire process too which made it nice. He offered to go buy some batter blaster to make pancakes for dinner...
Glad that your 2WW is flying, mine never does!!! I seem to obsess about things very quickly. I need to find myself an extra hobby to occupy myself these next two weeks.
Here's a little baby dust for you!![]()

Yay! I'm glad it went so well. AWESOME follies!I've never heard of the flipping either, but hey....whatever works!
I've posted way too much around here today, so I guess the 2WW obsession really IS starting to creep in. Oh well.Hobbies are good. I just finished a crochet project I'd been working on for awhile. Time to start something new!
Hopefully your 2WW goes by quickly and ends with that BFP!
And back at ya!![]()
