NEW HERE? Read this!!

Welcome to the TTC 35 and Older board!

It can be intimidating to post when you first stumble across a board of women that have grown so close. It is our mutual situation that has brought us together. We were all strangers once too!

PLEASE feel free to jump right in! :blob1:

This is a FANTASTIC group of women who are the most welcoming and supportive women you will find on the boards.
We have unique challenges and disappointments to deal with when TTC over the age of 35.

We hope to make your wait a little easier to bear.
This is a place to have fun and 'escape' at times, but we are also a place where you can come to find a listening ear, advice, or a shoulder to cry on.

The upcoming months are sure to hold many joys for all of us!

:babydustpink:

BTW..even when you conceive, you have to come back and visit frequently. We are the 'Hotel California' of TTC boards:

You can check in, but you can never leave!! Wink

Feel free to post any questions here. If you would rather, you can PM one of the hosts.

To have your info put on the Daily Cycle List / Chart Link, PM Susie/sfgowings and she will be happy to add you! Biggrin

Hugs and babydust!

Teresa, those were the exact things I was thinking when I read Lori's post! 1) SO well stated, and 2) Younger ttcers wouldn't get the Hotel CA reference. Thanks to both of you for making this a great board!!

You know everyboard seems to have a nickname. Lori I think you just gave us ours. I know when I left for my short time, I kept telling Teresa and Lisa how hard it was to stay away. Even when I wasn't posting, I had to check in on everyone. When you come here, you atomatically feel you are home.

I think every time a new member comes, we should
"Welcome them to Hotel California"

Just a thought.

Love you all

Thanks guys!!

I thought it was a cool reference. Seems like whenever someone 'graduates' they feel like they have to leave.

Au contrare! ( I don't know a lick of French, so if I spelled that wrong, sorry!).

OBVIOUSLY if you are TTC 35 or older and succeed, you have alot to offer this board! Biggrin

When I wanted to become a moderator here I specifically asked Missy if I could still host when I actually conceived. She said "HECK YEAH! You can even stay after the baby arrives!"

Yippee! :jumpingbeans:

I'm hoping this will be my lucky month. My temps jumped higher today!

Hugs, love, and babydust!

Helpful to see that there are plenty of people out there going through the same thing we are! Had a m/c in January, at 12 weeks (actually a d&c after ultrasound showed Trisomy 18 ), then turned 40 in March. Hard to be patient, but we do have a beautiful daughter, turning 5 in September, so I know it's possible for us to have a healthy baby. Some "friends" comment that we should be thankful for the child we have. I'm not selfish just because I want another child, am I? :?

Joyce you aren't selfish at all. Alot of women with children say that they feel their family isn't complete and want more children. All that matters here is that you want another baby Wink

Welcome! We're glad to have you, I am looking forward to getting to know you better. Just jump right in Smile

Hi!!

I am new to these boards as well. I sometimes think I must be nuts wanting to have another baby #4 but my dh and I agreed that when I finished college and started my Masters I would think about becoming pregnant. That time has come and gone. I am on my second cycle of clomid 50 mg and hope it works this month. I battled cancer three times and have made significant life changes. One of them being wanting another baby and not surrounding myself with negative people and their thoughts.
I have been blessed in so many ways, I have suffered through many m/c's and have experienced the joy of giving birth as well but would love to have baby #4 and would love to chat with you ladies!!

Best of Luck!!

Kelley. (My last feedbacks I wrote so fast I forgot the other l in Kelley) Smile

Not TTC yet, but starting the research and planning. We're planning to start TTC around May- I'll be turning 35 in March and I have the feeling I'll be learning ALOT here.

Hi Ladies!

I am so gled there is a place for me to chat with people!

I will be 35 this month and DH and I have decided to step up a little on the baby making.

thanks to you who write... I have been reading for a month and your postings have given me lots of comfort, laughs and company.

Since this is my first month to chart... to the best of my knowledge.. I'm 7 dpo/ cd 26.

I had a dip in my temp today... implantation??

Welcome Phedu!! Glad you decided to join us Smile We love all the victims......uhm, I mean company we can get! Wink

I am 9 DPO today and I had a temp dip at 7 DPO, and on the charting board they say it can be an estrogen surge that commonly occurs around that time, so I'm not sure.

Sending you tons of babydust and good luck though!!

Hello to all of you--this is my first posting to this board, though I have been in some other ones.
I wanted to throw in my "2 cents" worth of encouragement for all of you TTCrs and/or those dealing with secondary infertility.
I am 44 years old and blissfully pregnant (13+ weeks) with my second child. I have had many miscarriages, the last 2 in 2001 and Jan. 2003. I just wanted to let all of you "Advanced Maternal Age" moms (don't you love that term?!) know that it is possible to get pregnant, even when one is older!! Most of the things you read out there are SO discouraging and dismal, but I never stopped believing that I could get pregnant again. Most people are shocked when they find out that this baby was conceived naturally. I did go on Progesterone early in the pregnancy because with my last miscarriage they discovered that my levels were low. I have felt all the pregnancy symptoms that I did not feel with my last 2 pregnancies, so I happily endured the morning sickness and fatigue that has been going on.
Please do not give up on your quests to conceive! Good luck to all of you!

Hi, My name is Alison and I'm from Melbourne, Australia, and I'd like to join you guys if that's ok? I'm 41 years old and for some strange reason I'm TTC for the 2nd time. I'm hoping that things will go as quickly and easily for me 2nd time around. My first (and only pregnancy so far), went against all the statistics. I stopped taking the pill in January of 2001 but didn't seriously start to ttc until September. One month later my DS was conceived. Completely naturally. It was my 39th Birthday Boink!! All I did to help things along was to not rush into the bathroom straight after (if you kwim :)), and made a little bit of an effort to lie with my backside lifted up to help gravity push the little swimmers in the right direction!

I know this was perhaps a lucky chance, but I'm hoping that nature is on my side and my eggs are still ok and we conceive as quickly and easily as last time. It will be nice to share my journey with you all, if that's ok.

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for a while, and would like to join. I'll won't be 35 until December, but I totally understand the "Hotel California" reference, so I think I'll fit in.
DH, 38, and I have just started to purposely TTC this month. I discovered I was pregnant in July while taking the pill (for 15 years!) and we were thrilled, but M/C in August suprised us. We have decided to plow full steam ahead with our new endeavor. I have learned so much from these boards and Toni Weschler's book...I can't believe I didn't know my body was capable of giving all these indicators!
I have a beautiful 15 YO DD from my first marriage, and she is looking forward to a sibling. Baby dust to all!

Glad you found this thread!! Welcome to the group. I think alot of us don't say much to our families about TTC, that's why the TTC boards are so important to us. I hope your TTC journey is short and successful!!

I am new here. I am 39 years old and have 2 children. I recently had a miscarriage at 8 weeks-heart beat stopped. I am waiting for the hcg to go down-now at 25 3 weeks post d & c. I had an IUD for 5 years, I wonder if that had anything to do with my loss...

Hello all. I am new here, and new to messaging, so please bear with me. I'll try for a quick history and then hope you'll tell me what you think...

I'm 37, have been TTC for 6 years. 3 failed IVF cycles - diagnosed mid-2002 as peri-meno, unable to conceive. Still TTC naturally - DH really wants kids but not adopting. Have had regular cycles since I was 12. In 2003 had a 66 day cycle - 10 hpt's proved not pregnant. Fairly regular cycles since then, some 16 days, some 28, am now on CD=58, tiny bit nausea now and then, very moody, extremely painful breasts, some tiny cramps, hpt last week was negative.

Am I setting myself up for another disappointment like the last 66 day cycle that ended in AF visiting?
