Thread: Alcohol and TTC

Because I am still waiting for a normal cycle after coming off the pill I feel like I should be careful about alcohol. I'm not a big drinker at all It's rare for me to drink more than be glass of wine but there is a family event coming up on the 18th f this month and I am wondering if I havent got my period by then, should I do a test just to check the morning before I go out.

I feel silly suggesting that maybe I should test just I case because I think that it is really unlikely that I could actually get pregnant before proper periods have started. My last withdrawal bleed was on the 3rd of jan.

What do you ladies think?

I'm not a big drinker either, but if I think there's even a remote possibility that I might be pg I test before I have a drink. That's just how I am though.

im not a big drinker either but i tend not to worry about it.... if i drink before i know i'm pg then the baby probably hasn't attached yet anyway so it wouldn't get much of the effects.

it might be a good excuse to POAS I do hate the disappointment of a bfn though even when you know that it's unlikely to be positive

I'd probably take a test anyway, but I'm a POAS-aholic. Even if it's a BFN I wouldn't drink too much just in case it's still too early.

If you POAS, and it was negative, then you know for sure that either you are not pg, or it is too early for HCG to show up, which means that baby hasn't implanted and isn't really connected to you yet. Then you can have a drink or two and not worry.

Have you tested? I could never wait until the actual day I told myself to test

Lol yeah I have to admit that I tested the other day which was 31 days since my withdrawal bleed, I don't have anymore in the house so I will just test on the 18th.

I think it's hugely doubtful I could get preg until after my next laparoscopy (which prob won't be until April).
