    Question am I pregnant yet?

    Hi all!
I was struck by a biological lightening bolt and for a year now all I can think about is babies! I notice them everywhere! I have never been pregnant but am obsessed with reading up on every aspect of it! I was supposed to ovulate sept 30th 2013 (according to my Period Diary Pro App for my phone) and had sex the day of and the days leading to it, although I am on the nuvaring and took it out on the 30th for 5 hours (it is only supposed to be out for 3 or risk of pregnancy). Although it's unlikely, I have experienced the weirdest bodily changes. My boobs have become heavier but not intensely heavy, I had a dizzy spell on Oct 12th after going to the fall fair and riding one ride that doesn't do anything too crazy motion wise. It caused me a headache leading to nausea. Then on oct 15 at work I had another dizziness spell that caused the room to spin for 30 seconds, it scared me! I never get dizzy especially like that! Since then I have has mild nausea and dizziness with a tension headache that has not disappeared. I'm due for my period today and my nuvaring has been out since last Saturday oct 12 (it always takes 4 to 6 days exactly for me to start bleeding after taking the ring out. I have no feelings of cramping or anything that I usually get around this time. I have a increase in appetite the last two days and can only eat foods that I think about and then want. Could I be pregnant? (Also side note my nipples are sensitive to touch off and on lately too

Anything is possible, but based on what you describe, I think it would highly unlikely. The only way to know for sure is to test. Are you positive of your O date? Not familiar with the app you mentioned; are you temping to confirm a temp rise that would show you did ovulate or is the O date based on when a typical O would occur based on your cycle history?

The app bases the O date by you typical cycle length and Luteal phase. Mine seems pretty accurate as I am fairly regular (give or take a day or two here and there). I don't know how relevant this is but I also have detected a body temperature rise (not with a thermometer but just skin and feeling). I wake up and I feel slightly nauseated from my own body heat that I produce in the night and my skin is burning. I have never had that and yet I am not feverous

I thought that you don't ovulate when on nuvaring...this is what I found on their website: Over the course of 3 weeks, NuvaRing releases a continuous low dose of estrogen and progestin. Higher estrogen and progestin levels signal your brain not to release the hormones that cause egg maturation. Without an egg ready to be released into the fallopian tube, ovulation cannot occur.

However, I did also read that if it's been out for more than 3 hours to use other forms of protections - SOOOO that means that it is possible! (and someone prob did, thus the reason they legally have to say that!) At this point, if AF hasn't arrived, you def should be able to take a test since you're 17 day past ovulation. (and 5 days since AF should have arrived)

    Keep us posted!!

I suppose I will test tomorrow if AF doesn't visit

Just wanted to caution you as well; just because you have a regular cycle does not mean that you are ovulating. The only way to know for sure that you ovulate is to have a blood test or alternatively using basal body temping. Post ovulation, your temps will rise. I caution you here because I was having fairly regular cycles but once I started temping realized I was ovulating late and having short luteal phases; in my case, my LP was averaging 5 days. So, without temping, I would have assumed I was ok.

Since you were using nuvaring, I also would guess you weren't using any sort of ovulation predictor tests? While those will tell you that it appears you will ovulate, again, the only way to know for sure is via temping.

Keep us posted on your test results!
