Appointment Update

So I had my appointment with my GP today. She was great - listened to me, asked questions that I expected her to.

Basically, she said that given I've had 2 un eventful pregnancies, there are probably no major issues. But, she sent me for bloodwork today, more on day 21 for progesterone levels, and is sending me for an ultrasound. She did a pap (which I had scheduled for 2 wks from now anyways) and an internal exam - and said everything felt a-ok. She also gave me a requisition for DH to have a SA (he's thrilled).

I feel much more relaxed now, and was really appreciative of her not dismissing me (usually they don't consider you to be infertile until 12 months of trying, and I'm only on month 9). But, because I've been charting and everything, I think she saw value in at least testing.

So, my ultrasound is booked for next week and DH will for his tests the week after - I need his swimmers next week for my fertile period!

Thanks for reading!

Testing is good. How quick does all the testing take to get results back ? Glad she listened to you. That's half the battle it seems.

I think that sounds awesome. LOL at your DH. Mine was super thrilled about his SA when we went through infertility. He also claimed it wasn't a good sample because he wasn't properly aroused  I couldn't help him out because I was working when he had to go in. Poor guy. Anyway, I'm so glad she didn't just dismiss you and that you will get some answers either way. And who knows, maybe just being more relaxed about it all now that you are taking more action will get you knocked up next week!

Glad your appt went well and you're getting testing started! What bloodwork is she doing beside the progesterone tests? I'm hoping my appt goes just as well on Monday!

KATIE!!! 3 days late? And you haven't tested?!

The tests should come back within a few days, I think. Usually they are pretty quick. If there's anything urgent they'll call otherwise I have my Nov 18 appt.

I copied down what was on my bloodwork requisition...besides the normal cholesterol, etc., she asked for LH, FSH, TSH, free testosterone, DHEAs. I don't know what a lot of that is.

SA = semen analysis... And I'm not sure he'd want me there, tbh Smile he's very anxious about it in general!

Glad you had a good appointment. That testing sounds pretty standard, all those are just hormones, I know LH is Lutenising hormone. Hope it helps you and you get a plan forward.

I love how hubby's sook about an SA, do they not realise how invasive testing gets for us women

Typically yes
Cycles changed from 27 to 23/24 days
This is based on a reg cycle

I've been sick so I haven't been able to pee on a stick cause I've been in bed. Kids have it too. Halloween didn't help with lousy weather
I'm positive I've got my dates right

LH: lutenizing hormone
Fsh: follicle stimulating hormone
Tsh: thyroid

I don't see Amh on the list? Or E2/estrodial estrogen? My RE tested for everything you list except testosterone and dhea; I think those are more common along with blood sugars if pcos is suspected. I got my results for everything except AMH AND lh within a week. The others took 2-3 weeks. Dh didn't do SA yet. But, he isn't thrilled that no lubricant is allowed.

I'm glad your doctor is listening to you and willing to follow through with the testing. I hope the results come back soon!
