Dr Appt - M/C Ment

I got a call from the doctor yesterday morning. They said I needed to come back in to get my blood redrawn because my blood test was positive but my number was very low. I told them I had been bleeding heavily since Thursday afternoon and they said I needed to come in and see the doctor.

We went in and she said that I was having a spontaneous miscarriage. I wasn't really surprised. I had felt pregnant and AF has been way different than normal. I was pretty upset yesterday and DH suggested that we take the month off. The doctor said we can try right away but she doesn't think it's likely we will get pregnant this month. I don't really want to take the month off ... I don't know why I just don't. I'm extremely upset that we lost this baby, but I still want to try. I'm really conflicted because I feel like I'm just moving on, but I also don't want to risk not trying this month if this could be it ...

I think we just decided to DTD when we feel like it and not really plan on it for TTC this month. I guess I'm just looking for any experiences for people who have BTDT ...

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I understand the mindset of not wanting to wait to start TTC again. I always think about the 'what if's' and wouldn't want to miss that opportunity if it did happen to be the perfect month. I hope you get a very sticky bean very soon!

I know a few people who went through the same thing you just did and got pregnant that same month. So it can happen. I think JLIH this month is a great idea, no pressure too succeed but still the opportunity.

So sorry for your loss!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I am fortunate in the sense that I have never had to experience a m/c. I have read that your chance of getting pregnant is higher after a m/c, but it seems like a good idea to give yourself some grieving time.

Thanks ladies. My emotions are everywhere right now. I got the results of my 2nd Blood Test today and my numbers went up. They are going to retest me next monday. The doctor still thinks I'm having a M/C but they aren't sure what is going on. I just want this to be over already.

Wow. Is there any chance that you conceived twins? I'm sure you don't want to get your hopes up too high, but I hope there's some good news in store for you on Monday. KUP!

Twins aren't in our family on either side but I suppose anything is possible.

I'm definitely not getting my hopes up. I'm acting like I'm pregnant (no drinking, etc) just in case but I'm telling myself that I am not. I'm just going with the plan that on Monday my level is going to be a 0 and everything will be back to normal. If it goes up then we will deal with that and the emotion involved when it comes.

I'm so happy that my daughter's birthday is going on right now. She turned two Monday and her party is on Saturday and I have a million things to do, so I'm keeping pretty busy with that. I hope that this will help the time go by faster and also not allow me as much time to dwell on something I have no control over at this point.

I'm sure Mon. can't come soon enough! I hope your daughter's birthday keeps you focused on something positive (and fun!). Is she having a theme party? What kind of crowd is coming?

We are having an Olivia the Pig party and inviting close friends, but mostly family. There will be about 25 people. I am very excited about it. We gave her her presents and made a tiny cake on her actual birthday and she was very happy so I'm looking forward to her getting to do it again with all of her favorite people Smile

I'm so sorry for your loss. :bigarmhug: I know how much of an emotional rollercoaster it is, I went through the same thing with my bloodwork, it was still going up marginally even though I was obviously m/c'ing, so the docs didn't want to say for sure that it was a m/c "just in case." The emotional limbo is the worst part of it all. I hope your body gets itself worked out so you can start to heal and move forward.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this right now. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed though that something unexpectedly good happens and everything is okay. :bigarmhug:

Sorry to hear about this! I have had two early m/c, but my numbers didn't increase either time. How confusing and frustrating. I hope you get an answer soon. I have heard of people who bleed during early pregnancy and still go on to have a baby, so maybe there is still a chance of it going in the right direction. Good luck.

I've heard of this too, but I'm trying not to think about it too much. I'm just convincing myself that this is a M/C and if it isn't by some miracle then I will be pleasantly surprised instead of devastated all over again.

Thank you so much to all of you for the support. It really helps. DH is really worried about me so I'm trying not to talk to him about it too much and only my SIL knows what is happening IRL. She isn't married and doesn't have children so she tries to be comforting but doesn't really know how to help. I really appreciate you all sharing your experiences and kind words with me. :bigarmhug:

I'm just checking back on you. You're in my T & P.

I'm excited to see some pictures from your DD's party! I have a young niece who was all about Olivia at Christmas last year.
