At least new to the TTC boards... I used to be a regular on Sept. 06, and popped in every once in a while on a couple other boards. But, it's been a while. Not even sure what my siggy will look like when I post this, lol.
Anyway, my name is Tina, I'm 33. I have an (almost)15 yr old daughter, and 4 boys ages 12, 9, 7 & 5, all from my first marriage. I'm now engaged to an amazing man who has 4 daughters, and one son (ages ranging from 18-11). My 5 kids, and his son all live with us. It is a very full house, but we do want at least 1 little one together. So, here we go!
I had my IUD removed on Nov. 2, and am pretty sure I'm ovulating today. Of course after 4yrs with no af, not really certain... In the past I've gotten pg within a few months of trying, and my youngest was unexpected. Not sure how different things might be this time around being that my age, my bc method, and my partner are all different. Any tips on conceiving are greatly appreciated (especially on increasing my chances for a girl, lol). I look forward to getting to know you all!
Welcome!! Congrats on your large family and getting back on the TTC wagon!
On increasing your chances for a girl, I would say that if you are Oing today I hope you DTD'd 2 or 3 days ago because:
Male sperm are more fragile and don't live as long as female sperm, but they tend to swim faster. So some people believe that you can increase your chance of giving birth to a boy or a girl when you are trying to conceive simply by timing conception.
Apparently some people have had some good luck with this method.
Welcome back! That is a BIG family! I bet it's so much fun having such a big family though and you'll have lots of help when you have your new little one. I don't really have any great advice other than DTD around when you ovulate and maybe using OPKs. Obvious stuff haha. Good luck and I hope your stay here is short and sweet.
I haven't charted in the past, but have read a LOT about it. I plan to start if I get AF before I get pregnant. Thanks for the welcome ladies. Is it always so quiet around here? It seems more people are posting on the birth boards that coincide with their current cycle. Is that a better place to start obsessing with others about cycles and tests?
