    Default I suck at OPKs

I bought a cheap 20-pack of OPKs at cvs. I got an almost positive on CD12, definite negative on CD13, and a super positive on CD14 both late morning and early evening. What is up with that? Today is CD 15 and it was positive this morning, but negative this evening. So I dont know what to think. I had some O pain yesterday night, so I counting yesterday as O day. But today I have watery CM and usually the day after O pain, I have sticky dry CM. I don't know what to think.

We BD'd on CD12, and CD14, tonight DH is out with friends....so the TWW begins. AGGHHH!!!

Next time I'm using the digital opks, so nothing is left to interpretation.

OPKs can be confusing sometimes for sure. I would say if you got a positive on CD14 you either O'd then or CD15. Usually you O within 12-48 hours I think after you get a positive. Also the reason you can sometimes get a darker line, then lighter, then darker again is because your LH can fluctuate a little before it's positive. It can also depend on the time of day that you do them too I think. I always did mine with FMU which I found out later I wasn't supposed to do or if I did I needed to do them twice a day. I stopped doing them after a few months because I get monitored u/s now to tell me when I O. Plus when you're on fertility meds it's so obvious when you O cause you can seriously feel it. I decided if I ever switched back to them though I'd go digital so there wasn't so much confusion. Good luck! Sounds like you probably timed BD'ing great though. Keeping everything crossed for you!

OPKs drive me nutty too. I was worried the ICs I got were duds bc at first there was no test line showing at all stark white just the control line visible. I don't get nice progressions like some people but I usually have some sort of light line once in a while before O. I got EWCM on cd12 and the tests were still pretty white looking ( and this is testing twice daily around 11am and 7pm) but finally on cd 13 I got a nice line not positive yet but getting near (EWCM), morning cd 14 (WCM) was the same, then the evening cd 14 test was super positive. Cd 15 morning was still close to positive or still positive but by evening had changed to a def negative. I started having pre-o cramping cd12 as well and on cd 14 evening it was pretty painful for a few hours then faded to a dull cramping which stayed until cd 15. I still am not sure exactly when I O'd we are going to bd again tonight to cover our bases we have bd'ing every night since cd12 in hopes of having the sprrmies there waiting. It would seem that I should have O'd the cd 15 since the OPK wasn't pos. until 14 evening and it takes atleast 12 hrs to O after surge but with the pain I had I think I O'd on cd 14. I think I will go digital next cycle too hopefully I'll get of thus one though!

sounds like you Oed CD14 or CD15. It honestly doesn't matter if you can't pinpoint the day exactly (I could only get it to a 2-day window when I conceived DS3, even with temping and OPKs!) If you have a + any time during the day, mark it as + on your chart. Personally, I've noticed variability in duration of + OPK, fade-out of OPK and fertile signs, etc. I wouldn't worry too much, and I'd temp (if you aren't pregnant this cycle) because that's a lot better at pinpointing when O is past than OPKs and is less subjective than fertile signs.

I think I did O on the night of CD14 until the morning of CD15. CD 16, cervix was closed and no CM! Yes I'm considering temping. Maybe I will try it next month.

I was on Clomid for 3 months and never really felt ovulation for sure. This month I'm off it and I think I felt it... you are lucky you feel it that much! I wish I did it would make things easier for sure.
