About ovulation date, that is. I have been charting for years, and besides the tell tale CM changes, my actual temperatures pre and post ovulation are very similar month to month. This morning my temp rose a bit, higher than normal for 5-6 DPO for me, and FF changed my ovulation date by 3 days later! I never got a positive OPK either, but I stopped taking them when CM dried up. My gut feeling is that I ovulated on day 15 or 16, but now I am doubting myself. A bit aggravated here. Of course, even if we got it right, it would still have to make it through my challenged tubes.
Anyone have any input? I think CM is pretty reliable, really. Unless my body is being mean and difficult. I think I kind of messed up my chart by having wine (several) on Sat night, so Sunday is probably high because of the wine. But even if I disregard that temp, it still stays the same.
Oh well. New plan for mental health: temp tomorrow, then store my thermometer away so I can't get to it in the AM. Then pretend I am not TTC for the rest of the month.![]()
I'm not really sure what to think...alcohol can definitely mess with my temps, so you are right that it could have messed with the temp. The 2 almost level temps after that are the only thing that make me think FF could possibly have it right.
My experience is that sometimes when you have a long break in temps like you had this month, FF doesn't have enough info to be really accurate. If you think based on your previous charts that the first CH was right, I'd probably override it. As it is after the fact, it doesn't matter too much except in knowing when you'd likely get an accurate test and when AF would actually be late.

Looking at your chart, I would agree with you and I say you O'd on CD 15, going by your temps. I charted for over nearly 2 years when TTC DD, so I do have some experience on the charting front. I would go ahead and do the override to change the O date, especially if you typically have signs of O that you feel are very reliable.
I hope you caught that eggy!
Back when I charted all the time FF frustrated me to no end! I used Ovusoft (TCOYF's software) and found it to be a lot more accurate. Sadly, it doesn't (or least it didn't) work on Macs which is all we have now. I'd go with your own gut and experience over an online computer!

Okay, I decided to override FF. (thanks Anna, I didn't know I could do that). I am much more satisfied with my chart now. I've had other months that were questionable, but not that far off! Although I did put day 16 as ovulation date, just in case, since I don't really know my real temp that day. I played around in FF, and if I entered another low temp that day, it gave me day 16 as ovulation day.
I honestly think I would know my ovulation date and luteal phase by CM alone. It's never fooled me in all the charts I have. Now I am taking progesterone supplements, so I'll have a pretty, pretty chart that will probably be a BFN.So I think I'll put that thermometer away now until I test on 12 or 13 DPO, depending on how curious I get. (no hope of waiting until 14 DPO.......but, I hate to use more than 2 FRER's per cycle and my cheapness keeps me under control)
