Talking Indeterminate blood draw ***update to original post***

Soooo, the nurse calls me back & says my blood test results were indeterminate. She said the levels were between 5 & 25 but they can't say either way. I'm only 9 dpo today, so what does that mean? I'm starting to think that my test was an evap =(. I would really appreciate any advice, thoughts, or prayers. I definitely don't want to go through a 3rd m/c =(

    ***update***
Hey ladies, just wanted to update you all with some good news. When I went in for my first draw on Friday, they told me my beta results were inconclusive. I ended up finding out they were 19 & I was 9 dpo when I did that test. Yesterday, at 12 dpo I went for the follow up draw and it was 119, so my number more than doubled in 3 days. I am very excited to have this news & am on the phone w/ the appt desk right now making my first appt! Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers & good wishes!

T&Ps coming your way. It is still very early, even for a blood test. I personally haven't ever heard of a Dr. saying they weren't sure if you were pg! It's usually a "yes" or "no" kind of question. I'm hoping you just implanted late, and it hasn't had time to build up enough yet.

I've never heard that before either Jean. Even with my miscarriages they told me an exact hcg level. The nurse that called back told me that they didn't have an exact hcg level, but that they were sure it was between 5 & 25 since in came back indeterminate. That makes no sense to me at all, but she told me that most likely it is very early. I would say that it's early though because AF isn't due until 6 more days from today. I am not having any bleeding or cramping at all & my cervix is still high & closed, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. The nausea also isn't letting up any at all, so I will try to hold out faith until Monday. Thanks for the thoughts & prayers.

Too early for them to want to call it apparently. I wonder if the nurse just said it that way b/c she thought it was 'nicer.' Test at home over the weekend and then see about another draw early next week. 9dpo is very early and I'd expect the levels to be really low.

    I agree with this.

sounds like maybe they did a qualitative hcg (so a 'yes or no' there IS hcg) rather than a quantitative (an exact number) maybe?

but 9DPO IS very early for a blood test... hope you have more answers on Monday!

Thank you ladies. I found out our lab used to say a clinical pregnancy was 5 miu, but they changed it to 25 miu to be safe. I think I was overreacting because I am noticing some progression as well as the nausea increasing. The tests are in order from left to right 8 dpo-10dpo. My repeat draw is Monday. And yes they did do a yes/no blood test instead of an actual level.

That not only looks positive, but also getting darker! I think the lab messed up. I look forward to hearing what happens when you go back on Monday. I knew the early weeks are very stressful and scary, especially if you've already had a loss.

I pray you have a sticky bean in there!! KUP!

Yes they are. I've had two back to back earlier this year =(. With those, I had a sense of dread however. This one I feel really good about for the most part & definitely feeling nauseated & sore boobs (which DS doesn't understand why he can't prop his elbows there & watch tv lol-I told him that hurts). I think that's the only disadvantage to finding out so early-the worry. Thanks for taking a look @ my pics for me! I am glad they appear to be getting darker =)

Lurking I have good news and bad news.
Good news (which I think is necessary) is that my IC's looked just like that until I was at least 6 wks along! I'd say those are bfp's!!! Congratualtions!!

On the HCG blood draw, I have had low levels like 5-10 and the dr told me I wasn't pregnant, nor was a chemical mentioned. He never told me the actual #, but I moved and asked for my records and that is how I saw it. Those times when I was tested, af took forver to show. Because no further testing was done, I don't know what really happened.
