We bought 13 hpt's from the dollar store. I've been testing every day since 11/13, just for fun. Because I had an IUD for the last 5 years, I had no AF. However, I do have other cycle symptoms that make me about 90% sure that I O'd on 11/11. I'm thinking the earliest I could possibly see a 2nd line would be 7dpo? What are your opinions/experiences with this?
Hi there! I haven't ever been pregnant so I can't say this from experience but I think that typically the earliest anyone gets a positive hpt is 8DPO, and that's still pretty early. Most docs still recommend that you wait until you miss your period or until you're closer to it. I usually test every day with FMU from 8DPO on. Haha. I don't listen to the doc's recommendations on that normally because I obsess like crazy! This time I'm going to try to wait though because last time I saw so many BFNs that I just got super depressed, but I'm not sure if my willpower will hold out or not. Haha. I say if you feel like testing and you have the tests and you don't think it'll upset you too bad to see BFNs for a few days if you're not or if it's too early to get a positive result, then go ahead. Good luck! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!
Some people get a really faint line at around 8dpo, but for others it's more like 10dpo. I know one girl who got a BFN at 11dpo and a BFP at 12dpo. And since I am a total and complete POAS addict, I will tell you just to keep testing!! I hope this is your month and you don't have to wait for that BFP!
Here is something to look at while you're obsessing: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/...-pregnant.html
Implantation occurs most frequently 7 - 10 dpo. It's possible for a faint line to appear 8 dpo, but that's probably the earliest. This all gets a little more confusing because even when women are tracking their temp and using opks it's hard to pinpoint the exact time of ovulation (although those methods will get you as close as possible). There's a little wiggle room. If someone thinks they are 7 dpo, they might really be 6 dpo or 8 dpo.
With my pregnancy, I had a BFN 11 dpo (AM) and a BFBT (big fat barely there) that night. I tested that night because I wanted a drink with dinner (all the BFNs had gotten to me, I think).
Hope this is your cycle!
Thank you all for making me feel a little less crazy! When TTC my first 4, I didn't test at all until the day my period was due (#5 was a surprise pg, AF was way past due when I tested). This testing everyday thing is new to me. Since I haven't gotten a period at all since having my IUD removed, I have no "magic date" to focus on. Honestly, I'll be surprised if I get a bfp before having even gotten a period, but I'd really like to just have an answer, you know? I hate the wait!!
I know the obsession! My first DD was conceived immediately after stopping BC and back then I was so irregular it wasn't a big deal to miss AF, I tested because I was going to go back on BC (Exhubby didn't want kids) and I was shocked and excited. Last fall when I went off BC again (now with a wonderful new DH) it took 6 weeks for AF to come back and I tested obsessively expecting to get a BFP, unfortunately for me I'm 12 months later and still no BFP. Every month I get more obsessive with the 'pregnancy symptoms' and maybe this could be it, maybe I should take a test - just in case. The longer you go the crazier you feel!
Good luck and I hope you get your BFP soon!
