Mirena Question

I posted this on the thinking of conceiving board also, but I thought some ladies here might have some insight as well. :) I had the mirena placed at my 6 week PP check up, I'm still BF, and my daughter will be 20 months on Monday but I still haven't got AF back yet. Not that I'm complaining. :ROFL: We are still several months away from TTC, but for those of you who have had an IUD removed, how long after did you get AF back? My doc said that some women stop AF all together on mirena so that's nice, but I want to make sure that everything still works (if you know what I mean) when it does come time to TTC. Thanks in advance!

I can't help you too much, I just had my Mirena removed a week ago. I am waiting for my cycle to start again, I am HOPING that it starts in the next couple of weeks. It did pretty much make my periods disappear while I had in (for 3 1/2 years) a couple of times a year I would barely notice very light spotting. Good luck to you! I have my appointment to have mine removed in 2 weeks. I'll let you know what happens :)

I got mine in at the 6 week appt. I BF'd and between the two I didn't get a PPP for about a year, but now get pretty normal cycles.
ETA I've had it in for a total of 2.5 years.
