I had the appointment with the naturopath today. She is basically recommending that I change diet to align with the blood type diet rules; I'm A so that means no dairy, soy, and red meat. She also cautioned about GMO grains. Avoid sugar as well. I'm supposed to eat mostly fruits, veggies. Veggies should mostly be cooked versus raw, but not over cooked. I'm also supposed to be sure and drink 40+ ounces of pure water (or with lemon is fine). Green tea she said is good but limit to about 3 cups a day so it isn't dehydrating. The stuff I'm supposed to avoid is because in me it causes inflammation.
She was fine with my supplements, but wants to be sure I'm on a quality brand, so I will finish the ones I have and then switch over to stuff she recommends; she is also adding vitamin A and a liver cleanse to my regime. DHEA -- she said she thinks I'm taking too much, so I am reducing that to once a day.
She reviewed my labs from the RE and is running a new blood test -- I can't remember everything she is checking other than Vitamin D. But, it was stuff not already checked.
Overall, she said she doesn't think my issue is hormonal, but is more likely just poor eggs because of my age. She indicated that the positive is that my LH / FSH don't indicate I'm heading towards menopause, so that is the good news. Just need to try and catch a good egg She was also happy that I go for acupuncture.
I go back in three weeks for a follow-up.
