No AF and no BFP

I am 17 DPO and still no AF... I haven't seen a BFP yet and I used a FRER right when I rolled out of bed this morning. I thought that they were supposed to be 99% accurate from the first day of your missed period, but I have yet to get even a faint line so I was assuming I am not pregnant. I figured I must have misread my cycle or something. My friend told me her sister didn't get a BFP on a HPT for over a week after her missed period though. I looked it up on Consumer Reports and it said the same thing: that even FRER(and all others) was not always correct in saying that it was 99% at finding hCg and it took a number of women longer to get a BFP. I guess I am posting this b/c not knowing is making me antsy. I almost wish I had AF show up instead of getting my hopes up if I am not pregnant.

I've heard that sometimes it can take longer to show up for some people. I've heard a few ladies say that it did take a up to a week after missed AF before they got a BFP. Are your cycles normally regular? Is this unusual for you to be this late? Are you having any symptoms?

I certainly understand you not wanting to get your hopes up. I feel that way every single time...so much so that I've pretty much convinced myself that I can't be regardless of how I feel so I'm not disappointed when I get another BFN.

I hope that this is it for you though and it's just being stubborn about showing up! Good luck! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed!

I usually have pretty regular cycles- 28-30 day cycles. I haven't been following my cycles closely until very recently, but I don't remember being late any time in the last year or two. My only symptom is sore boobs, but that actually happens before I start my period too. I was throwing up last week for no specific reason, but that didn't make sense. It was too early for M/S and I figure if I were throwing up b/c I was pregnant, then a BFP would probably show up on a test. Gees- why do are symptoms so hard to figure out this early?! I am just going to try to pretend that I am getting my period any day now and stop worrying about it. If I still don't have my period in a week, then I will test again. Smile

Hmmm...sounds like a definite possibility if you're late and having some symptoms, but I certainly understand not wanting to get your hopes up. I'm 7DPO and cramping a tiny bit today and I keep telling myself AF will probably show up early or something really annoying like that. So I completely understand! Good luck and I hope it all works out and gets resolved quickly for you!

There was a lady on DD's birth board who didn't ever get a BFP. She was eight months pregnant and still getting BFNs! That's really rare, but it does happen.

Also, how certain are you about your O date? Obviously that could play a role.

Still, it looks promising! Smile

With my 3rd baby I didn't get a positive till I was 2wks late (confirmed by ultrasound). I was testing every 2-3days because I just knew I was pregnant. My other kids were normal positives on day of missed, or a few days afterwards.
