OPK & O symptoms

So I've been using CB digital ovulation tests this month and got my smiley face this morning. Since yesterday I've had a tight feeling over my right ovary and also had some sharp pains on that side a few times yesterday.

Is it possible that I O'd already? Even though the OPK is supposed to be able to predict up to 36 hours before....

If I did O yesterday and we dtd'd last night do we have a decent chance of getting preggo this month?

I haven't used the OPKs so I don't have much input... Sorry. I am charting though and it seems to me that it is the best way over OPKs. Have you been charting you BBT and CM?

No, I've never charted. I might do that next cycle if this one is a bust. The big problem for me is that I don't have much CM ever since I had a laparoscopy to remove some endometriosis back in 2007. And I seem to have even less this month since the m/c.

I sometimes don't have much but it's easier to check it internally. You could always start charting now just to keep track of your bbt. It will help you know after you O but at least you can watch if it is pretty regular and get an idea.

I hate opks. lol But I find them a necessary evil. It's a gamble on when I ovulate, if it happens to be a cycle I'm on the clomid, bcs I don't ovulate normally.
Honestly, the digital ones are supposed to be easier bcs you're not guessing at a positive, but I didn't like using those very much. I really like to see the progression and decide for myself on the regular opk's (I use the answer ones that I buy monthly at walmart). Are you using those new 'advanced' ones that give you the four days or the regular that just do the one-two day? If you are using the regular ones, I've used those before. Your 'fertile window' as it's called, is called about 36 hours long. The lh surge that comes before ovulation can be anywhere from 12 - 24 hours after that surge, and that's what triggers the smiley.
I would guess that if you were having pains and you got your smiley, you should be good that day or night Smile (sorry if I'm throwing things at you that you already know Smile )

For cm - lots of people have a hard time with producing enough. There are a few things you can try Smile
I use preseed. I think it's wondrous stuff, even if it's a little icky and kills the mood a little.
You can try taking an evening primrose oil supplement (vitamin you can get at walmart or a drug store) for the first half of your cycle, I've heard really good things about that.
Other things are taking guafinessin (mucinex, robitussin) a couple hours before sex, or using real egg whites (ew...but hey, if it works) (not sure if I've heard any success stories on those ones, but they are kicked around as ideas)

Hope I helped!!! And I really hope you get your take home baby very soon!! Smile

Thanks for all the info, Susan!

So I *thought* I was using fancy advanced ones so I was getting frustrated that I hadn't seen a flashing face yet but then I checked and they're just the regular digitals. I eventually got my smiley face on CD16 and kept getting them until CD19.... if I understand the process then seeing as I got no smiley face on CD20 (today) then I *should've* O'd yesterday. We've been at "it" a few times last week so if there is supposed to be a chance this cycle then I think we've done our best.

So technically I'm in the two week waiting period although I don't know when AF is due since everything has gone screwy...

I am in the waiting phase as well. Such a total pain! My AF is due around the 10-12. I'm using two different things and one says the 12 and the other the 10th. I figure since my birthday is the 11th if I get my period it's going to be that day... Since that seems to be how it works. I was bleeding for my honeymoon (lost the baby the week of my wedding), period for V-day, period for St. Patty's day (my husbands name is Patrick lol) and so here comes my bday. I'm nervous though! I was thinking about testing for my bday if it hasn't started but.... I don't want to ruin the day... So i might wait until the 12th and then my DS1's bday is the 13th. So hmmm.

Oh no! That must've made the wedding itself difficult to deal with!

I hope AF doesn't show up for you, but if she has to I hope she only shows up after the birthdays so that you can at least enjoy them without the disappointment hanging over you.
