Default Pain meds ruin my chances?? Help please

So on thursday I did something to my shoulder when I got up in the morning. I'm not sure what caused it but it started having a sharp pain. Consistent pain. Friday I couldn't stand it anymore so I took Ibuprofen and a Muscle Relaxer and it started helping. I could sleep. Saturday and Sunday the same thing.

Except last night I also took a hydrocodone at 4 am because the pain was too unbearable. I simply couldn't sleep. These are all dr prescribed but I didn't ask whether or not it could or would hinder TTC.

I've been taking my temps at regular times and it dipped really low on CD10 then it went up a little on CD11 and down just a little today. I didn't take my temps at the same time last month so I have nothing to compare it to. But what has me confused is the following...

I had watery CM at CD9 AND CD10 now its creamy again for the past 2 days...That confuses me because I ovulated last month around CD13. Last month I had Watery CM consistently right before the positive OPK. I got a positive OPK at CD13 and fertility friend never said I ovulated so I used the override.

I've also been taking OPKs and they have been negative. Today's OPK is lighter than the last 2 days. That confuses me as well because last month i saw the line get darker and darker on CD12 and blazing positive on CD13

I'm beginning to think that my shoulder injury/spasm and the pain meds I took are interfering with my hormones.
I also started taking evening primrose oil and several other herbal supplements but I completely blanked on taking them at all on CD10

I'm sorry this is long but I would really appreciate any kind of feedback

Do you think the pain meds messed it all up? Or me skipping a day on the supplements?

One other thing I've noticed that I must share...
Last month I was playing the guessing game while checking my cervix. This month I can REALLY feel changes in my cervix...like "oh thats what a soft cervix feels like" and so forth. Its high, it's soft and i can put my fingertip in it.
Is that open or medium....and is that a good sign that everything may still be ok?

I'm going to buy some preseed today. Will that be sufficient to get pregnant if my own CM is still creamy?

Again. sorry it's so long and so many questions. any help is good help...even if all you have to say is calm down lol.
And I'm not stressing...just so curious.
    Thanks

From some quick googling is seems there is not much out there at all on taking pain meds while TTC. I can't think of a reason why they would affect anything though. I'd be more concerned about the herbals affecting your hormones than the narcotics, honestly. It could just be that you simply missed a quick surge with your OPKs, or the LH surge was just not as strong this month, or it could even be the test strips you use. There's no telling, but if they are getting lighter I would assume you O'd somewhere around the time they were the darkest or right after. Just keep truckin' along and keep your fingers crossed. There is, unfortunately, a LOT of waiting in TTC. and KUP

    I agree with Anna.
If anything the new herbal stuff could be throwing you off but pain meds not so much. It should all even out soon Exp when your body gets use to herbal items

I sure HOPE I haven't already O'd. That would be sooner than last month. Plus DH and I haven't DTD for two nights in a row (because I was zonked out with the pain meds)

My temp is still low too. Crossing my fingers. One thing I do know for certain is that something I'm taking (most likely one of the herbs) is actually making my cervix change this month. A noticeable difference from last month.

Plus I noticed that I hadn't been drinking that much water. I decided I would start tracking my H2O intake. I've had a ton of water today and just a moment ago my CM was undeniably watery almost eggwhite. And since DH and I haven't done anything in 2 days I'm certain it's not semen.

    Anyway...
I'm hoping I O tomorrow or the next day...we'll see. In the meantime I'm gonna put the moves on DH tonight. Hoping and praying this is our month.

I am the worst about not drinking enough water. I know my water intake is way low.

    Are you still taking OPK's?

I am taking OPKs and they have been negative. Waiting until 10am to take one today.

My cycles are consistently 26 days one month and 27 days the next month. My last cycle was 26 days and I got a blazing positive OPK on CD13.
This cycle will undoubtedly be 27 days so I'm thinking I won't O until day 14. That's also what my midwife said.

So I'm still waiting and hoping and praying.

I've also been taking my temps consistently this cycle. DH wakes me up to make sure that I do it the same time everyday. lol
My temps look good. I haven't had a spike yet so I think I'm definitely still waiting to O.

It's only 8:54am over here in Texas right now.

I just wanted to chime in that anti-inflammatories are known to delay and prevent ovulation, (i.e. Advil, motrin, etc). The also affect bleeding by inducing clotting.

When I was doing fertility treatments, it was one of the things that the RE mentioned to me right away. I have chronic back pain and also very heavy bleeding during AF (menorrhagia - I bleed more in one month/AF than a woman should bleed in an entire year's worth of AF). I was taking Motrin when the pain got really bad, but I had no idea it could prevent ovulation. And during AF I was on Naproxen 2 times a day to slow bleeding due to iron issues, and I had to stop that as well. It was a painful 6 months after my surgery last October where I was told not to use anything but Tylenol....

If you are TTC I would strongly suggest only using acetaminophen (tylenol) if you can because, yes, the alternatives it can affect ovulation.

    Hope this helps!

NSAIDs (Ibuprofen aka Advil or Motrin, Naproxen aka Aleve, Naprosyn) work by inhibiting prostaglandins that cause pain but they can also affect prostaglandins necessary for ovulation. For most women occasional NSAID use isn't likely to be a problem (i.e. taking two advil the day before O for a headache) but regular use while TTCing isn't recommended. If you have any reason to suspect fertility problems I would avoid them completely. Stick to Acetaminophen (aka Tylenol) or talk to your doctor and try to fix whatever is causing the pain so you don't need to take anything.

Thank you for your help ladies.

I haven't taken any pain medications for the past 2 days (yesterday and today) because I wanted to play it safe rather than sorry.
I'm happy to know that I can take tylenol but the pain in my shoulder is started to go away.

I've been taking my herbal supplements. Stopped the pain meds. Increased my water intake - and today I had EWCM and my cervix is high, soft and open (complete change from last cycle)

I'm hoping at this point that I stopped the pain meds in time to ovulate and catch the egg this month. (crossing my fingers)
I'm taking the EWCM as a good sign
