    Default possible etopic

I am currently I believe around 4wks pregnant, but doc says 7wks. I had a tubal ligation 8 yrs ago and thia is not suppose to happen, but this isn't the first time in july I had a miscarriage. I missed my period nov 9th and have been bck n forth to my obgyn and she says my hcg levels are not doubling, they went from 166 to 436 to 638 to 838 on sat then I was tested yesterday on thursday and she was shocked they went to 1850, but docs aren't seeing anything not even the sac, so they tell me its highly etopic. I refuse to take the shot to dissolve anything bc they cannot see anything is it possible I'm just not far along and that's why they cannot see anything?

It is absolutely possible that you are not as far along as they think you are. Especially if you are thinking you are around 4 weeks but they are thinking 7. There would be a huge difference in what they can see on an ultrasound between 4 and 7 weeks. Did they see a sac in your tubes? If not then I say you are well within your rights to wait and see how things develop. Your levels are absolutely going up so you are definitely not out on this. Please KUP in the coming weeks as I'll be very interested in the outcome. I wish you the best of luck for the most positive outcome.

Also, welcome!! So happy to have you here with us!

They haven't seen anything in my tubes. It just stresses me with all the hcg testing with my other 5 kids they never did any hcg testing just waited till I was 8 to 10 weeks and did a fetal dopler for a heartbeat. I just believe docs should wait a little longer before running so many blood hcg levels and actually stressing a newly pregnant woman.

I think your hcg numbers need to be higher before they see anything. I had blood work done and it came back at 944 and we didn't see anything. It wasn't until the following week hcg was 4233 that we saw a sac and a little something likely the fetal pole. I wouldn't take what they want u to until they are 110% certain. And it doesn't sound like it.

Hugs, I don't have much advice. Other than could you possibly ask for a second opinion?

I had an abdominal ectopic the first time (not in my tubes but somewhere outside of uterus/tubes...weird I know). They never saw anything on the ultrasound. I waited until i was bout 6 weeks and they wanted to do the shot but I was nervous. I had an endometrial biopsy to check just incase there was something there, but they saw no fetal cells. I took the shot then. I say wait a bit, especially if your numbers are rising. Mine never rose normally though.
