Default So excited but questions about Temps Need your help (TMI)

Ok ladies I am so happy that I'm beside myself right now so bare with me. lol
As you know I'm new at this...and the herbal supplements I've been taking have been changing things for the better - things I haven't seen in years.

So...yesterday I had EWCM. My cervix was so high it was hard to reach. And it was undeniably soft and open (had the feeling of the bottom of an apple but softer) I took two OPK tests yesterday (dollar store and an EPT digital) both said no

Today...My EWCM is thicker and even more stretchy than yesterday. My cervix is higher (didnt think it could go that high) and it's open but the "dimple" doesn't feel quite as large as yesterday.
I took two OPKs again. The EPT digital said no- and the dollar store brand was MUCH darker than yesterday. Almost looks like a positive to me. (you can find the picture on the forum do you see a line)

Anyway... my questions come in about my temp. (Let me say now that either way DH and I DTD last night and the night before so regardless we didn't miss our moment) But anyway...

I've been taking my temp regularly at 7am (before I get out of bed) until today. I had to get up earlier to take our dog to the vet. I totally forgot to take my temp before getting out of bed. I brushed my teeth and got dressed and everything.

At 6:50am my temp was 97.33

I got my kids ready and noticed it was after 7 and wanted to temp again at 7...

So at 7:05am my temp was 96.99

Which temp is the true one?

If I use the 97.33 my temp jumps up on my chart but not over the others at the beginning. Which could indicate that my temp is going up and ovulation was yesterday

If I use the 96.99 my temp stays relatively level with the past few days and means I'm probably ovulating today like I assume because of the EWCM and OPK.

I know this is long - excited that my body is working and so very curious. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.

Based on my experience with temping, the temps are not accurate once you've gotten up to do anything so neither temp is accurate. From your description, I would go with the lower temperature.

Oh and tomorrow my DD Averi goes back to school after being sick so I'll have to get up early again. 6:20am. My VERY beginning temps were all taken near that time and BEFORE getting out of bed. So if all else fails I guess I'll see what my new temp is tomorrow. Waiting waiting waiting.

I would say if you use a temp at all for the day you can just pic one and make a not that it may not be accurate. Since the idea of temping is to get a resting body temp, its not valid if you've already been up and about before taking it. I would probably just leave the day blank. If you like to have a temp on every day of your chart just make sure you note that you were already up and the temp is not consistent with the others, but even if you just mark that the time is different FF should give you an open circle to indicate that inconsistency. Good Luck this cycle. The EWCM sound very promising. Are you planning on taking another OPK today to see if you get a surge?

I hadn't planned on it but now I guess I will. What time is the best time to take theses tests? I usually just take them all at 10am every day.

I found in the morning my temps are fairly accurate whether I get up at 5:30 or 7.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the advice Anna and Dani

I used the lower temp but marked it as discarded so I can see it but it's not attached to the rest.

Waiting to see what tomorrow brings.

I do feel awkward asking so many questions - but then I'm just so excited about theses changes. Does anyone else get excited when they see EWCM? Or DID anyone else get excited the first time they saw their body working right?

Cause this whole process is completely different than last month.
And like I've said before (somewhere) I haven't seen EWCM in years after the tubal ligation. My body has been out of whack for a long time.

Just a few supplements and she's gearing up. Even if we don't catch this egg it gives me hope for the near future.

Oh Dani that's VERY comforting to know. So no matter what time I get up is fine as long as I temp before actually getting up

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Hehe last month my temps were all over the place. I'm trying very hard to be more consistent this cycle.

In a perfect world we'd all get to temp at the exact same time every day at the exact same circumstances, but the world isn't perfect, so if you have some days where you get up earlier, just take your temp then before getting up. It should still be close and would still give you a good guide to go by on your charts.

I get excited about EWCM when I'm not TTC. I always think about its potential when I end up with really good signs like that. I didn't see any EWCM this month and since I'm not temping, I can't be sure when I O'd. That kind of stuff makes me want to start temping again, but I don't want to get too obsessed with TTC again. Its dangerous territory for me.

I did notice a difference if I slept later (does not happen anymore). Sometimes if I would get up to pee at 3am I would temp and then compare it to mine when I actually got up. Usually they were the same but sometimes they were different. If in doubt, I either ignore or take the lower temp.
