    Question Temps

Okay, I may not know a whole lot about what a temping chart "should" look like and I know it's early in my cycle yet, but I am thinking my chart is looking kinda wonky. My previous charts don't have as many ups and downs. Just thinking it is looking kinda odd.

I agree that it looks wonky. My first suspect would be your thermometer. I've seen temps that jump up and down when my thermometer battery is going out. Next I would wonder if anything has changed with your sleeping schedule. If those don't explain the jumping temps I would keep tracking to see if you ovulate. Hoping it's just a thermometer issue.

Well my sleeping schedule hasn't changed, but it very well could be the battery. I will pick up a new one today and hope that that is it. Thanks Beth!

If you switch thermometers or batteries and notice your temps have shifted somewhat, don't panic. Seems like every time I do that my whole chart looks slightly different. Good luck!

My temps are wonky too but it is a brand new battery... maybe sometimes we just get wonky temps?

That could be it too, Kimberly. Why can't our bodies just do something REALLY obvious like turn blue or purple when we are ovulating? Then there would be NO denying when to BD

I'm going to be different and say that it's not that wonky at all. I've seen much worse temp changes on BFP charts! You haven't O'd yet and you could easily still have a cover line of 97.6 or so which isn't that high of a temp line. Remember it's the overall cycle that matters not each individual temperature. Your last chart looks fine and each chart will not look the same ever!
    Best of luck!

That's true! I'm probably just expecting every chart to be similar (haven't charted that long, just a few months now) so that could be why I am thinking it is so odd. Thanks for your thoughts

get a glass thermometer and then you won't have to worry about the battery. mine was $5 at wallmart and i love it! watch your temps cuz when mine were going up and down like that my OB said that it's because your body is trying to get you to O so you keep getting a small LH serge. Just someting to pay attention to. Arent you glad you chart? Just one of the benefits!!!!

Ditto the above! I have several years' worth of charts in FF and NONE of them look the same. A few look similar-ish, but there's a lot of variation. One of my ugliest is actually my pg chart. I didn't even have a solid line for ovulation on that one! I know I ovulated because it was a Follistim/IUI cycle and I was monitored closely with bloodwork and u/s. What's most important is the overall pattern which can be hard to see until a cycle is over (or at least several days after ovulation).
