Thinking about using OPK's

I'm thinking about using OPK's this cycle but know nothing about how to use them best to help us get pregnant:) so I would love for you to share your wisdom with me ladies ! Also where do you purchase yours? Online or at the store ? I should ovulate around the 9th I think so I want to order some online but don't know which to use.

Thank you !

You want to start using them several days before you think you'll ovulate, just to make sure. That way you'll definitely catch the right time. Use them once a day, and once you get a positive result, it's time to start DTD. The tests detect the hormone (I forget the name and am too lazy to look it up) that signals when you're about to ovulate, so you start getting a positive result approximately 48 hours before ovulation. Sperm can live for a couple of days, so you want to start trying before you ovulate to give yourself the most opportunities.

I got pregnant the first month I used OPKs, so I'm a big fan of them. I like the Clear Blue Easy digital test, because you get a happy face when it's positive.

Walgreens has a bunch of different brands. That's where I got mine.

I've tried all different brands, but I normally get them at Walgreens too. Love that store! This may sound weird, but your little girl looks familiar, where in SI are you from?

I ended up getting them at Target. The walgreens was Wiped out haha. There must be a lot of baby making going on right now.

We live around 30 minutes outside St.Louis Smile Are you from this area?

We used to live in Highland, moved in November. I finally remember where I'd seen her, it was at my neighbors party. She and my daughter played together.

Was it a super bowl party? I was sick that night and came to pick up DH and DD ... I remember she played with another little girl there Smile

Yes, thats it. She was so sweet! I had my daughter on my lap, so she climbed up on my lap too.

That is so crazy ! I've never met anyone who even lived near us, let alone that i have met before on any of these boards.

I'm glad she was good. She usually is with other people, and then we get home and she is very two for us Smile

Me either. Even if it says Illinois, I usually assume it's no one I know.
DD is the same way, wonderful for others, but then when she's back with mom and dad she's a mess!
So how long have you been trying for #2. I went off BC back in Sept, but have very irregular cycles.

I stopped BC last September too Smile I got pregnant in October but discovered it was ectopic (our 2nd) in early November. They said we could start trying again after one normal cycle but we weren't ready, so this is our 1st cycle back. I've been off BC for two months though. We knew that we were going to want to try soon.

I really want to have another baby before Ash turns 4. Ideally we would have been able to have one before she turned 3 but that obviously isn't going to happen Smile

Sorry to hear that. I'm hoping to get pg this cycle since dr gave me two rounds of Clomid without being monitored. Insurance wont covered it until Sept. Took us over a year the first time, so hoping it doesn't take that long this time. Miss my old dr, she was the best. My new one seems like all she cares about is the $.
