It's been several weeks (maybe months!) since I've posted anything - DH and I decided to "take a break".
I have a short LP - about 9-10 days, so I decided to start taking herbal supplements. The one I bought contains dong quai root, red raspberry leaf, black cohosh root, and chastetree berry. I only took it for about 2 weeks, but it worked!! My cycle became about 27 days! (it has been about 24 days the past several months)
Here's my issue. (TMI alert) On day 27, I was checking my cervix, and there was blood on my finger, none when I wiped tho - so I assumed AF was coming. B/c I was teaching the next day, I put a tampon in. and over the next 2 days, my "light" tampons had barely any blood! Do you think it's possible the herbal supplements could also make AF lighter and shorter? (like only 2 days!)
thanks for any thoughts!!!
PS - I haven't taken a PT. I don't think I could be preg unless I ovulated late, like cd 16-17. (hubby was away the week before)
I take a prenatal vitamin, vitamin D, and just starting taking echinacea (I substitute teach, and get sick ALL the time, I'm sick right now!!) and a herbal supplement called Female Complex by Nature's Answer. I got it at Vitamin World. It contains dong quai root, red raspberry leaf, black cohosh root, and chastetree berry. From what I've read about the supplements, it's suppose to regulate your cycle, not necessarily make your periods lighter. I havent found any correlation between the supplements and late ovulation. and this month I wasnt really paying attention to my CM and O pains since hubby was away and I know we wouldn't be DTD, so I'm not 100% sure when I O'd.
Seems that AF might be picking up b/c I just had some light brown when I wiped....which would mean my cycle would be 31 days!! Which is totally normal, but crazy for me since the longest cylce I've had in the past year has been 26 days! I'm going to POAS today just to make sure.
Well I POAS and got a BFN. and looks like AF is starting, its just very watery, which isn't normal. I'm glad my cycle is now longer, just hoping that I didn't O later, thus not really fixing the problem. Since we aren't really gonna start trying again until April, I think I'll still take the supplement (maybe less dosage) and see what happens this next cycle.....
I know! it's crazy to think that I only took it for 2 weeks, and it helped! Makes me feel so much better knowing that this 1 "problem" has been resolved (pretty easily too!).....
