triphasic chart pattern? UPDATE post 32

Hi gals. I've still been taking my temp consistently at 6:20am before I get up in the morning. I'm at 7DPO and I just saw something on FF about triphasic chart patterns or dips that "may" indicate implantation.

I've got a screenshot copy of the top half of my chart. Is this what they're talking about...or is it supposed to dip REALLY low?

 photo mychartcd227dpo.jpg

I was wondering why my temp went down a little at 4&5 DPO and wondering why it's spiking so high this time. This is my first month of taking my temp at a consistent time and before getting out of bed.

Also...is there implantation spotting with every implantation?

Curiosity kills me. Smile
Thanks for reading and any comment is welcome.

That chart is GORGEOUS! If your next temp is that high, then I would say it is triphasic! Your chart is looking really good this cycle. I really hope this is it for you!

Thanks Anna. My hopes are up but I keep trying to keep them down or at least...realistic?

I don't want to test until after I see my temps closer to when AF would come.
I'm trying to wait and see if my temps just drop at any time.

My cycles are usually 26-27 days. When I O'd on the 15th, FF changed my cycle to 28 days.

I'm wondering when the temp would shift down for AF...because I didn't do the BBT right last month I have no clue when my temp dropped last cycle. I didn't like the guessing game, you know?

I took pg tests started at 8DPO and got negatives but I was SO convinced I was pregnant...I just kept telling myself it was too soon to get a pos test. This time...I'm pushing myself to wait. I guess we'll see what the next couple temps bring me.

LOL...Waiting to temp...waiting to test...waiting to tell family lol. "So much fun!"

The dip for implantation is usually a bit more noticable and most people don't go tri-phasic that early in the cycle; but, I agree that your chart is looking nice! I'm a POAS addict, so I would personally start to test 9 DPO Smile I did get a positive with all my pregnancies on either CD9 or CD10 Wink As for your question on when a temp dip occurs before AF; that depends on each person. I personally don't usually drop until the day before or the day of. Good Luck!I had a definate triphasic chart with my pregnancy I had with my son -- here is that chart:

Oh - forgot I wanted to explain tri-phasic a bit more; beside the "dip", you will have two sets of temps that rise after the dip -- hence the "tri" - being three.

In my example, I had the implantation dip at 4 DPO, then rose/shifted back up (9-14 DPO), and again another rise/shift (16-18 DPO). The first rise might not happen immediately after the dip. I simply initially rose to my "norm" post ovulation. The temp rises above my norm are the tri-phasic sets.

Thank you for the explanation, Christa. I guess I'm just going to have to wait and see what my temps are in the coming days. Smile

Oh Christa...another question. Do I have to have a tri-phasic chart pattern in order to be pg? I'm going to look at the chart galleries.

Eh...From what I've read on FF (Implantation signs) and charts I've skimmed over...nothing is certain. Just because I have good temps or whatnot...it's not a certainty of pregnancy.

I've just got to try to be patient and wait until test day...

Whether pregnant or not, the chart looks like your cycle and hormones are good! It looks like it might be triphasic, but it's too early to tell for sure. Just keep it up! Good luck and baby dust!!!!

I see you answered your own question Smile You do not need a tri-p chart to be pregnant! I know it's hard to relax -- believe me, my acupuncturist keeps telling me to "RELAX" -- so hard!

Thankfully, a triphasic chart is not necessary to show a pregnancy. I say thankfully because I've never had one. Smile Unfortunately, you can have the best looking chart ever and still find out you aren't pg at the end and get the huge drop right before AF shows. What charting is really for is to get to know your cycles really well and give you the best possible chance at catching that egg. That's what makes it really frustrating sometimes.

Like Christa, I'm a POAS addict and would start POAS way early. I did in fact. I started to POAS at 6 DPO and got BFN's until 8DPO when I got a VERY faint bfp. Some people don't deal well with BFN's so they don't test early, but I prefer to know as soon as possible and the BFN's bother me less than having AF suddenly show.

Mine are triphasic all the time. When my temp drops, my period starts within 24 hours. Despite my charts looking the same, I still obsess over the minor differences.

I only had implantation bleeding once and that was my loss.

Good job with the charting!

Temp Update

Today my temp took a straight drop...I don't know if that's good or bad at this point.

I was so amazed at the drop that I took my temp twice right in a row. 97.73 at 6:19am and 97.76 at 6:20am
Either way it's a straight drop...

I also POAS today with FMU and a FRER test. BFN.
On one hand it helps keep my hopes "stable" on the other I know 8DPO can be way too early...
I'm going to push myself to wait to POAS again until at least 12DPO...

Here's today's chart screenshot

Today's temp is still above the cover line. I just need to be happy about that I guess.
Hopefully tomorrow's temp will go back up.

Egg implantation "typically" happens around day 7 PO -- so that could just be an implantation dip. You won't know for sure until later. HUGS!!

I agree with Krista. That looks more like an implantation dip than your first dip did. I'm crossing everything for you, hun.

Yup, what Christa said. I think my implantation happened at 7dpo based on my starting to POAS at 6dpo (yes, I am indeed that crazy). However, implantation can technically occur anywhere from 5dpo to as late as 12dpo (though I'm thinking that late is probably pretty rare). The norm would be 6 to 8dpo. So the drop could definitely be implantation dip. Of course, the waiting is the hardest part. Smile I'll be excited to see what the next few days brings.

Well it looks like I'm out girls. My temp is still dropping.
I know it's not below the cover line yet but it's just shooting for the ground...
And I got another BFN with FMU using a FRER test.

If you look at my chart you'll see a BFN at 7DPO. That was not with FMU.
But now that I've started testing...I can't seem to stop
With temps like this tho...it's quite discouraging.

I was pretty emotional this morning. I told DH I don't want to try anymore.

DH says we just need to take a month and detox and get back to it.
So I guess that's what we'll do

Going to be taking vitamins and supplements to increase my AMH
DH will take things to increase his count.
We'll see what the cycle after that brings us.

I know I was a sourpus this morning.

Just keeping myself busy.

9 DPO is still really early to be testing. While it is possible that AF is on her way, it is also possible that implantation hasn't yet happened. You are not out until AF shows! Many women do not get a BFP until around 12 dpo and some don't get one until after AF is due. All hope is not lost and your temp could shoot back up in a day or two also - I've seen it happen.

Also: you should post a pic of your test. Some of us love to analyse pee sticks to death.

It's ok to get discouraged sometimes, but don't let it ruin you. It's not over until the fat lady sings. Or, in this case, the AF shows up. Just keep your wits together. You'll get through the hard times.

HUGS.

It is always hard because once you want to be pregnant, you want to be pregnant immediately. It is even worse because you can do everything "right" and have it still not happen. It took 7 months of great timing and no medical issues for my first pregnancy. It took one month of horrible timing for my second pregnancy.

It also isn't over until you get AF. You haven't charted a full month so you don't know if this is the sign AF is coming or some form of implantation dip.

With DD2 I got started testing early (up until that point, I had only ever taken 3 tests) because I was convinced I was pregnant and I always saw people here getting early BFPs. I figured if I was starting to have symptoms, I should be in the minority of people who can get early BFPs. I started at 8 dpo and I didn't see anything until 12 dpo (AF due next day). It was so faint, I didn't really believe it so it took a lot more tests to prove it to me.

Good luck! Today looks promising!

My Chart CD25 ~ 10DPO

Hey gals! I'm not sure what was different but today my temp went up a little.
I'm hoping it stays that way.

I'm becoming obsessed with this chart. Taking my temps at the same time. I'm a temp addict lol

I entered my temp wrong. I took my temp and ran to the bathroom. (Really had to potty)
By the time I got to the computer I thought my temp was 97.79 so I entered that.

Talked to DH and he wanted to see the temp (my BBT saves the temp) it was actually 97.90

Either way it's up. That's all that matters to me today.
We'll see what tomorrow brings!

It looks promising, some people get implantation dips, so that temp on 9dpo could be one. It's a slow wait but just somethign we have to persevere with

That is a good looking chart! But, um, did you test? Based on your ticker and on your chart when I look at it of FF it appears you are leaving out a key piece of info here. . . . ???????

EEEEEEEEP! I am so happy for you!! I was trying so hard to stay grounded for you because I didn't want to get you too excited in case it didn't turn out, but I really believed you still had a good shot at a BFP this cycle. I am thrilled for you!

Thank you Alyssa. I really appreciate that!

My next Beta test is today. I was going to go in asap 8am but my midwife told me to wait until 4pm so there's 47 hours between tests.
I'll have to go in at about 3; however, because DD Averi gets home off the bus at 4:15pm
That'll still give the time between tests as 46 hours.

I'm certain the number will be good. My midwife says 29 is a great beta number for 11 DPO
And my temp is still up today.

Hoping and Praying my number is somewhere near 58 with only 46 hours between tests...
If my number is good then they schedule the early U/S to make sure our little one is in the right spot.
Oh Lord please let this work out!

Here's today's chart! I haven't POAS today because we're doing the beta today. I'll probably cave and test later tho.
