So the a few years ago I found out I was gluten and lactose intolerant. I have not had a regular period since then. Every six months or so I get a very light periods it last aabout a week. I was also on birth control when I was 18. My husband and I have been TTC for the last 3 months and because of my periods I know its going to be a problem. IDK if it the birth control or the gluten thats the problem or both?? I have read about gluten intolerant/ celiac decease it cases problems for women to get pregnant. Is that so??
Hi and welcome to Pregnancy.org! I'm sorry that you have been struggling with your ttc journey. There has been more information linking gluten / celiac disease to fertility issues for some people. You can read a little more within our article: Going Gluten-Free Helps Couples Conceive
My suggestion would be to start with a visit to your midwife or ob/gyn to discuss your concerns. They can then offer you expert advice and possible solutions to help you achieve your dream to become pregnant.
Please come back and share more! We'd love to get to know you.
