when is my temp gonna drop?

I'm very confused... I started my period yesterday and at first it looked like it would be a med flow. It didn't show up on tampons for the rest of the day or overnight... there were a couple drops on a tampon when I woke up. I even exercised last night so it should have come out. I took a pg test today and it's neg but i'm confused by my temp. Am i possibly having a misscarriage?

I tend to not temp during the first few days of my cycle because my temp seems to jump around and I just like to take a break from temping. I wouldn't worry too much about your early temps.

I don't know about temps since I don't temp but I know what you mean about AF. Mine was super weird this cycle only had 1 day of a full flow and it still wasn't as heavy as usual and they aren't that heavy to begin with. I did the same as you...I kept working out thinking that'd get it going. I was even walking around the house saying "come on already!" to myself. A little crazy I know but I just wanted to be done with it already. I had a few drops for a day or two and then had a full flow and then it went back to a drop here and there. I think AF likes to mess with us when we're TTC. I hope yours gets going good soon so you're not stuck in the weird limbo! But hey if it hasn't officially started yet maybe your LP is longer than you think. Smile

Gina, I just looked at your chart and see you've only had spotting for three days and your temp is still up. I would call your RE before you start clomid and explain this to him/her. I know with my RE they counted the first day of FLOW, not spotting, as the first day of a cycle.

I just got off the phone with them and they said to go ahead and start clomid. I said "even though my temp is still up and I could be pregnant?" and they said they consider the spotting my period. I think I will wait for the full flow to start just so i feel comfy with it because it's not their baby that would be damaged if i take the pill. I'll go with my gut on this one. flow will probably pick up today and i will take it tonight Smile

OMG good thing i didnt' take it yet! the nurse just called me back and said that she talked with another dr there and since my dr isn't in yet she said to wait for the 1st day of full flow! ahhhhhhhh! I told her i wouldn't even be worried about it but since i did ovulate (i can tell from my chart) i'm worried i could be pg and spotting from that. I spotted for 2 weeks when i was pg with alyssa so you never know. she's waiting till this afternoon when my dr gets in and she will get back to me. even if he says to take it tho i'm gonna wait till AF flows full force. it's just not worth it.

I didn't want to freak you out earlier by mentioning the risks associated with taking fertility meds when you are pregnant in case you had already taken the first pill. Not to offend anyone who may be a nurse, but the flow question and starting meds is the kind of question that I like to make sure has been run by a dr. In some cases I want to make sure I either talk directly to the dr. or trust that the nurse has talked with the dr. before giving an answer. Even with a BFN at 12dpo there is a chance that you could be pregnant and spotting. Of course if that isn't the case, I hope AF starts full force for you soon so you can move on with peace of mind!

From: IVF by Sher et al. (Google books)

The fear that Clomiphene might cause birth defects arises from the fact that its inner structure, or nucleus, is very similar to that of the hormone DES, which is known to have caused so many birth defects when administered to pregnant women. Although it is theoretically possible that Clomiphene might cause such defects; birth statistics do not indicate an increased birth-defect rate after stimulation with the drug. The laboratory studies mentioned above should not be ignored, however, but should be heeded as a guide to safe, prudent administration of fertility drugs. We caution that Clomiphene citrate should be taken only when it is absolutely certain that the woman is not pregnant. (The appearance of a menstrual period does not provide adequate certainty because more than 10% of women might bleed during early pregnancy. Assessment by a physician, or even a home pregnancy test, provides greater assurance that a pregnancy does not exist.)
