My DH and I have been TTC on and off since Dec. '06. We were married Dec. '05 and we're both 25. We weren't really trying we were more like whatever happens happens until this month. We went from whatever happens to we really want a baby. We are hoping for a baby next year. Giving us more time to prepare financially & health wise.
Any problems TTC? Well that I know of none. The women in my family are very fertile so I'm hoping that luck swings my way LOL. I'm in the process of trying to lose weight. I've lost 30lbs already and I'm trying to lose another 30 so I know that will affect us in some way fertility wise. My DH and I are both over weight and we both decided that we needed to live healthier lives so we are both trying to lose weight and we've cut out unhealthy habits (alcohol, drugs, etc.) We are both determined to be healthy to have a healthy baby.
I've changed the way I eat and exercise much more. I'm about 30-40 lbs away from my ideal weight & I can't wait.
My cycle used to be irregular. There were months I wouldn't get it at all but these last 3 cycles have been like clockwork since losing the 30 lbs.
This is a great site I look forward to sharing my progress with you all.
Hi! My name is Elizabeth. I am 27 years old. My DH is 30. We will be married for 4 years in June. I have been off my BCP for about 2 years, and have been trying/not trying to have a baby. We had a m/c in Sept. 06. I started seeing a fertility doctor in Dec. 06. I am insulin resistant which is preventing me from ovulating. I have just started my first round of Clomid and we are crossing our fingers.
My name is Jeni and I'm 32. My dh (33) and I have been married 12 years going on 13. We are just now thinking about kids. I'm nervous about getting pregnant at the weight I'm at. I'm 5'9" and trying to get some off this weight off before we ttc. I'm not getting any younger and I'm glad to find the forum to help me out in the process. I stopped taking birth control last Sunday pt.16th!! If I end up getting pregnant then I know I can't gain too much weight.....who knows maybe I will loooooseee!
AGE: 39....My DH is 38
How long you been TTC? we've been TTC on and off since 2001. I finally got pregnant last August, but we lost it due to an ectopic situation.
What challenges have you ran into on your TTC journey because of being Plus sized? Just about everything you can think of.....fears of hypertension, gestational diabetes, preclampcia (sp)...you name it, they've warned me. I had two MC in the 1990's . In 1998, I suffered from a benein ovarian cyst that destroyed my right ovary and fallopian tube. My left tube is operational, but my left ovary has recurrent cyst issues. After I got remarried in 2003, we started thinking that there may be something wrong. In 2006, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer & hyperthyroidism, which caused me to lose over 120lbs in less than 6mos. I subsequently had chemo & radiation treatment and have been cancer-free since August, which is when we got pregnant last year. Only made it to 6w3d before we had to end the PG due to ectopic attachement **update** after my SECOND ectopic in July 2007, I will most likely be having my remaining tube removed, and we'll be going forward w/ IVF
Anything else you want us to know?! I've been PLUS sized my entire adult life, and I have been perfectly happy in my skin ! We are ready and willing to do whatever it takes to finally have a baby of our own !!! [/b]
How long since ttc? My DH, Ben, and I got married in April of '06 and decided to enjoy married life for a year before (as we say) "stopping trying not to get pregnant". We've just had too many friends and relatives who got stressed out by "trying too hard" to have a baby. In any case, we are going to stop using protection at the end of July. We are both on Optifast and are being very sccessful at it; I've lost over 60 pounds in 14 weeks and Ben has lost over 75. I'm still about 20 pounds from my goal weight, and I think I can get there (or close) by the end of July. In any case, we were told not to get pregnant while on the liquid portion of the diet since that could be harmful to a developing fetus. So I am TRYING to be patient and wait, but it is getting more and more difficult.
Any special "challenges" from being Plus Sized: Well, when I was younger and weighed a good 100 pounds more than I do now, I was extremely irregular. Once I lost about 30 or 40 pounds, my cycles became very predictable. But because of that history and some other issues, my OB/GYN has told me I have some of the symptoms of PCOS, but I have not been tested. I just hope that the hard work I'm putting into weight loss pays off!
Hello all! My name is Christina. I'm origionally from Michigan and moved to Florida almost a year ago. I came here working for "The Mouse" (Disney), which is where I met my Fiance. We arent exactally TTC or TTA, its more like if it happens it happens at this time. I am 19 and he is 20. We have been "TTC" for about 8 months now and I am waiting to POAS to see! I cant wait to find out. I'm going to test sometime Monday and see what comes of it.
I'll let you all know what happens from there. I really want a BFP but he doesnt mind either way.
Glad to be part of the TTC Plus-Sized Women
BTW.. if anyone has a www.babynames.com account (or willing to open one) please check out my name list and vote on names you like. (the list has my last name, not his since we are not married yet so the baby would most likely have my last name at this time)
What challenges have you ran into on your TTC journey because of being Plus sized?
None that I know of from being plus sized, but it took my mom forever to get pregnant with me, and I was on the pill for about 10 years, not sure if either of those things is affecting me or not...
Anything else you want us to know?! Hubby and I have been married almost 5 years (yay us!) and we've put off TTC because I needed to finish school. We are excitedly frustrated about getting pregnant. I think we both thought it would happen before now. We have a furbaby beagle mix named Halley and are considering getting another pup.
Hi! My name is Crystal, i'm 26 and my husband and I are TTC#2 with PCOS. It took us 1.5 years and a m/c before we got pregnant with our son, it was a long, long road of Metformin and Clomid. We have now been TTC for 2 months on Ovulex and so far my cycle has been as normal as can be expected at around 33 days which I'm not arguing with lol. I know that my weight is a big issue with the PCOS and i'd probably O on my own if I just started losing, I had lost 40lbs not too long before I got pregnant the very first time which was the one we lost but at least we knew it could happen. I was miserable at 250+ while I was pregnant, I had to go to physical therapy for my back and I just felt...ICK, I didn't want to go through that again but we have a schedule to stick to as we planned to have our kids around 2 years apart. So I'm going to try to kick my butt into gear to lose some weight while we're trying and if I get a BFP then maybe i'll be able to lose a little more before they freak out that i'm not putting it on lol. Then hopefully i'll continue at least trying to stay in shape and eating right from there.
Thanks for listening I wish much luck and baby dust to you all!
