    Default VBAC activism

I'm not pregnant yet, but I'm already on the VBAC war path. I had a c-section in 2008 due to an anotomical abnormality that has since been fixed.

My local hospital won't do VBACs unless you've already had one somewhere else though (ummm.... STUPID!!!!). I do have two other hospitals that are reasonably close that do them, so I'm not SOL, but since I have time I am challenging my hospitals VBAC policies.

I filed a complaint with the hospital and am going to elevate it as needed. I cited many laws and regulations that give patients the right to refuse treatment and to be able to be a part of choosing their treatment. I've love to share the process with other VBAC supporters!

Hoepfully by the time we get pregnant, the hospital will see the error of it's ways (I can dream, right?)

I'm lucky to live in an area where VBACs are generally supported & encouraged so my activism tends to be online supporting & informing women like you who don't have local support or information. I'm also active with ICAN, and I encourage you to get involved with them, too! Welcome aboard!!!

I've looked into ICAN and shot them some e-mails but there isn't a chapter near me so I don't think they'll be able to help as far as choosing a hospital or doctor.

Think about starting your own chapter! You can't be the only woman in your area who had a c-section.
