3rd time's a charm right?

Well, we have decided to try again. Our package deal that we bought from a third party that deals with fertility treatments (not sure if I can say the name on here but I think y'all know what I'm talking about) included 2 fresh and 2 frozen. We figured since it was already paid for, we should go ahead and try again. We are going to do another fresh cycle and hope for the best. We had an appt with the RE scheduled for 3/13 but was told that I could call back to check for cancellations. Inspired by quick appts this week, I decided to call on a whim. Long story short - we are going to be seen tomorrow afternoon!! This means that hopefully I won't have to wait another cycle to start (I've been on BCP's since Sunday). I'm still pretty upset that our last cycle didn't work but I'm relieved that we are getting the ball rolling a little quicker. DH has been out-of-town since Sunday morning but he comes home today. And I think this is his last trip until the end of May Yahoo

Yahoo I am so happy for you! I really hope that you don't have to wait another cycle, and having DH at home will be a great bonus Smile T&Ps for all of us Smile

I'm glad that you are able to be seen so much quicker than your original appt. It sounds like you have a good plan. I'd definately do another cycle if it's already paid for. It'd be like leaving money on the table if you didn't. It sounds like mentally you are in the right place. Good luck!

Thanks! The appointment went very well. RE is still very hopeful and doesn't think there is any reason why it won't work with a little tweaking but we'll see. We are going to do a different procotol this time. He said that it will probably decrease the number of eggs we get but they will be better. I"ll take quality > quantity any day. We are looking at the week of April 9th! That's like less than 6 weeks away!! I really hope it works this time.

Glad it went well and your RE has another plan. What protocol are you doing?

I don't have my notebook with me right now but it's the one that's the "tried and true older method" (RE's words not mine) that uses Ovidrel to trigger and not Lupron (what I was doing before). Since I carry a dx of PCOS (in addition to DOR), there was a concern during the first cycle of OHSS if we used this protocol since I would be at greater risk for it but the RE saw my response and doesn't think it will be an issue. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point.

Jenni, how exciting! I'm sending you tons of sticky bfp vibes. I'm glad your RE is using a different protocol and I agree, quality over quantity anyday! Biggrin

I've always triggered with Ovridel or some type of hcg. My last RE was going to have me trigger twice in hopes of getting more mature eggs. He was going to have me trigger with a full dose, then a 1/2 dose 12 hrs later. He ended up not doing it for fear of my getting OHSS. Hopefully this new protocol does the trick when they don't have to worry as much about OHSS since that was their fear before.
