BCP's

Hi Ladies,

So I spoke with my OB/GYN a few days ago and she did not want to put me on the pill until I've met with the RE. I've been doing a lot of research and it seems like that's one of the first steps after the consultation. That way they can control your cycles. But my OB/GYN also said that sometimes they have you take a shot for 10 days...I can't remember what she said the shot was. For those of you who've been through this before...Did the doctor make you take the pill for a month before you could actually get started? Or did you take a shot? Just curious...thanks! Smile

Hi Steph! I was on BCP for 3 weeks total but started Lupron after 2 weeks on BCP and took Lupron up until I had my trigger shot. Not sure what protocol you're on, so it could definitely differ from mine, but that's what I did! GL!!

I'm sure it's Lupron she is talking about. Both the Lupron and BCP are used to suppressed your ovaries.

Just curious...is Lupron a painful shot? Big needle? Smile

Lupron is a super easy shot with a little needle. You'll use the same needle that's used to give insulin. Essentially painfree.

Good to hear that. It makes me less nervous...
