I would definitely file a complaint, that is crazy!

Mari - big hugs, when I lost Bailey my OBs office tried to schedule my appointment to arrange the d&c after all the pregnant women were gone. My OB had a delivery and was running way behind, wish his office would have called as I sat there in shock and seeing all these bellies and hearing heart beats from exams. I had 2 followup appointments and they were both just scheduled for whenever, and it was so hard. So I totally get you not wanting to go to the OB. Hope everything has cleared up for you.
So, what is going on with me???? My body is doing weird things. I have been so nauseated and tired, no fever or anything. The worst was Saturday, I felt fine, we took Robbie to swim lessons and then Denny's for brunch. Our food arrived and I did not want to eat. Just as we were going to leave I started to be sick at the table, no warning at all. What a mess! Sean went and got a ton of napkins and a plastic bag so we could clean everything up. I felt horrible, at least it did not seem that anyone at any other table noticed what was happening. I am having spotting but wonder if it is because I may have thrown up my BCPs... don't remember. One friend was hoping I was pregnant.
So far at Target we have just had our orientation, so 5 hours of videos and paperwork. Next week I really start work. I need to get steel toe shoes/boots. The store does not open until May 5. Right now we will be putting up shelving and such and then April we start with stock.
Next week Robbie goes for a social skills assessment and then hopefully into the social skills group for 20 weeks. If they see major issues then he will be sent for more autism testing. We received the report from the Learning and Development Clinic - no huge surprises there. On the testing is was rated "clinically significant" for: inattention, hyperactivity/impulsivity, executive functioning, aggression, peer relations. Another test he was rated "clinically significant" for: anxiety, depression, adaptability, and "at-risk" for: hyperactivity, somaitzation, atypicality, attention problems, activities for daily living, function communication and adaptive skills. Some of the stuff I am not sure what it means, guess more research is needed by me. His report card comes home tomorrow, I am sure there are no surprises on it.
Margaret...hope you can figure out what's going on. I saw on Facebook that you got sick. What time do you take your BCPs? Unless you took it shortly before vomiting I don't think you would've thrown it up since it'd probably already be absorbed into your system. Stress can cause you to spot. I'm sure stress was the reason I started spotting in Nicaragua. So it's a brand new Target you'll be working at? That's exciting. Hope Robbie's report card is good. Sounds like you have no reason to worry.
Last night DH and I went to an artist's reception for the photo exhibit we entered photos in. DH got lots of comments on a couple of his. We submitted 7 pics of our trip to Nicaragua. Most of them we are going to hang in our bathroom and bedroom. Today we are going to prime the bathroom walls. Maybe get the first coat of paint on if the primer dries today, if not, we'll do it tomorrow. Tonight we are going to take the girls to an Honor's Recital. They thought about playing piano in it but I knew they would not be prepared. This way they can see the competition and what it's like if they want to do it next year. Tomorrow night we are going to go to the dinner we bought on auction at the girls' school gala last year. It's a dinner for 4, so we invited my younger sister and her boyfriend. We've bought it two other times and it was very good. It's a seafood and steak dinner. I think last year it was 8 courses. The dinner starts at 5pm and we ate until 11pm. They didn't donate it this year so I'm glad we got it last year.
I start work on Monday. I am ready.
Margaret - I love Target. I shop there at least 2-3 times per week. Thats right. The ladies there know and recognize me, and have helped me combine savings legally to save nearly a hundred on my breast pump. With diabetes there are so many reasons you could be throwing up related to that.
Meg - Sorry about your table. I would definitely contact the BBB. I can't believe he doesn't want to fix the table. That is ridiculous. You'd think he'd be proud of his work and want to make it beautiful. I woudn't want work of mine out there that was broken. That alone could spread the type of publicity I would not want.
We need spring to come.
Tiffany...I was wondering when you started back to work. I'm glad you are ready and aren't dreading it.
I think the table guy knows he's in the wrong by not fixing the table. Otherwise he wouldn't be so defensive and telling DH that "he doesn't like his attitude" and would respond back to us instead of ignoring us hoping we'd go away. We had a friend of ours look at our table because they wanted a custom made table. We will be telling him now not to use this guy. I think we are also going to contact the Iowa State Fair board since we discovered this guy at an exhibit at the State Fair.
I try to shop at Target more than Wal-mart. I'm pretty proud of myself when I can make a trip to town and get everything at Target without going to Wal-mart. I haven't been to Wal-mart for quite some time.
I agree....spring needs to come. Today it's supposed to be in the 50's. Lots of melting snow ahead. Yesterday it was in the 40's but I wasted the whole day laying on the couch with the worst migrane I've ever experienced.
I'm watching the news about the Carnival Cruise that's stuck at St. Maarten. I'm glad we spent the extra money and are going on a Disney cruise.
DH and I just submitted our complaint to the BBB along with all the emails and pics of the split. At this point, with our poor rapport with the guy, we don't want him to fix it but would like to be reimbursed the cost for a local woodcrafter to fix it. We also sent the same info to the Iowa State Fair Board.
Here is the split:
Meg - wow, that is a big split!
Tiffany - glad you are happy to be going back to work, it may feel like a break for you :)
Target has just come to Canada. They opened their first 3 stores this week. My store and another one will be the first in Edmonton.
I am off all week-end for Girl Guide training. I am looking forward to it but will miss Sean and Robbie, I won't see either of them again until Sunday afternoon so I was sad saying good-bye when they left this morning.
Margaret...how did Canada survive this long without a Target? Glad they are making their way there. Hope you have a fun weekend at the training.
We got the bathroom walls primed and the ceiling painted yesterday. I really hate making painting decisions but at least if I feel I made the wrong one it's only paint and can be painted over. This morning we're going to put the first layer of top coat on. I'm excited to see the colors once they are on the wall. The girls are going to make me breakfast this morning. They wanted to do breakfast in bed but I can't stay in bed until 8:00. I think they feel a little bad about making me mad yesterday because I was not in the best of mood with them.
That is a big split that really stinks!
I AGREE I love target. I'm actually going there again today! LOL! Hope you had a yummy breakfast!
AFM- I found a different MFM doctor today but was sad to see that I needed a prescription from my doctor. I went ahead and emailed them saying that I just wanted a consultation. I really don't feel like calling the OB since she feels she can take care of me, but I don't feel comfortable staying with her. I just won't. Oh well, if I have to call I just will. I need to do what's right for me.
We started up our construction as well last weekend. We cleared out a ton of garbage and this morning we got rid of it. We decided at the moment to leave the brick instead of sheet rock. I'm not too thrilled about it but it will save a ton of money and time. DH has showed me many pics of basements in brick but I'm just not sold on the idea. He was open to changing to sheet rock in the future if I really hate it. We want to get most of the basement done now that he has my help. Once the summer comes and I start IVF I really don't want the stress of being in the middle of a construction project.
Margaret-hope you have tons of fun!
Tiffany- you want to start and I want it to stop. LOL!!
Well we are heading to the mall to grab some lunch and do some window shopping. :)
Mari...it's hard to change doctors even if you don't like the one you are seeing. I always feel like I'm going to hurt someone's feelings. It's like a break up. But if you are not comfortable where you are definately get a second opinion. What construction project are you doing? Next week will be on week 10 of our bathroom remodel. It will be nice to get your's done before starting another cycle. Hope you had a fun lunch and window shopping.
We got the first coat of paint on the walls. It looks good. And it matches the bedding I bought perfectly since we are also going to repaint our bedroom. I was nervous to put it up next to the paint for fear that the colors would be way off. We will put a second coat on tomorrow. The green color in the tray ceiling we used as an accent wall behind the whirlpool. The vanity will be where all that stuff is but it kind of gives an idea of the paint with the tile and rugs. The lighting is really bad right now since it's just a light bulb hanging from the ceiling and not our light fixtures we bought.
Our plans for the night changed. We were going to go to a dinner we bought on an auction but one of the people hosting and preparing it is sick. As much as he probably doesn't feel like cooking and entertaining I don't want to be around a sick person, so it's best they just postponed it. It works out fine since we invited my sister and her boyfriend and she worked all night last night so she's probably tired. Instead we'll go to a lady's house that went to Nicaragua with us for dinner. It sounds like most of the group that went is going to be there (minus my sleepy sister). I made a fruit tray in the shape of a rainbow to take. It now has marshmallow fruit dip as a cloud on one side.
I like it! Looks very nice I especially like the green border. My favorite color is green! And let me tell you I think that fruit salad looks delicious!
At this point we have a mostly gutted out basement. When we moved in we took advantage of the dumpsters and just gutted it out. However, we didn't have the money or time to finish it. It is such a necessity for us but it's not something we have been able to complete, so we are hoping to finally get most of it done. We are planning on putting a full bathroom there as well and can't wait for that!! We also have a sun room in the back too but it's in very very bad shape, so that also needs to be completely redone.
