Meg - The nerve of that woman. Seriously. She should mind her own business. That is insane and thank god you were not there. It is awesome that your renovations are underway.
Margaret - I had PPD with DS #1. I am shocked that I am not dealing with that this time around. I think having DH here with me is a big component in that. Besides sleep deprived and in physical pain, I am sure I was lonely.
AFM - No plans today. We are both pretty tired. I am combatting that with caffeine this morning which will make a nap impossible.

Tiffany...I'm sure it helps a ton to have DH around. It would be so hard to care for the twins and DS alone. Did the caffeine help with the tiredness?
I went to mass this morning, then out for coffee. Because of the flu there was no holding hands during The Lord's Prayer, no shaking hands during peace and no wine for communion. I think the Diocese is about a week or two late in trying to prevent the spread of influenza. It seems to have died down quite a bit here. I figured DH would've been swamped in the ER with it over the weekend, but he barely saw anyone all weekend.

I am going back to work after 10 weeks. That is going to have to be long enough. It will leave me ample vacation time to use over the summer when they are a bit bigger which will be nice. I know I will be ready to work when it is time to go back, though we may need a night nanny or something then. Hopefully they will not be eating every 2-3 hours at that point but I know that it is impossible to predict.
Our diocese just made the changes as well. They needed to be on top of this 3 weeks ago. I am not sure what our ERs look like now, but around the 1st of the month the ER was full. It probably is starting to subside now.
Tiffany
Tiffany...glad you have a timeline of when you'll go back to work. You seem like the type of person who enjoys her job.
I think that's when the flu was the worst around here. DH has seen it in the ER but not horrible. I bet it was the worst in our ER when he was off work at the beginning of the month when his family was here so he missed.

One of the nurses who took care of us at the hospital; and long time family friend; has a child who is going to need a cochlear implant. My MIL wanted to plan a last minute super bowl fundraiser. I think if we are going to do a fundraiser we should really plan something that might have a chance of getting them real money. I am wondering if we could do something through their church to make it happen... I always wanted to host a wine tasting or something along those lines. Anyway, I will see what she thinks. Obviously I do not have a ton of time to devote to this right now, but I do have the right contacts.
Alright we are off to bed. Wish we had heard from Kate and I hope she is ok.

I can't comprehend how little time you Americans get off for mat leave (if you get any). I was ready to go back to work when Robbie was 9 months old and Sean took over the parental leave portion (you can split the 35 weeks parental leave, the 17 week mat leave is only for the mom). I had been off work since about 24-25 weeks and with the severe PPD my doctor figured getting me back into a routine would be good for me.
My SIL had a nanny during the day with the triplets and then her and my BIL took over in the evenings. She had lots of family help as well. When I had Robbie everyone complained there was only one baby as compared to the last time there was a baby born in the family (the trips were 7 when I had Robbie), they did not like sharing
I saw the u/s pics of my newest great niece/nephew. My nephew is so excited, he had the nursery all decorated by the time his wife was 3 months! Wish I was closer to them but I am going to make a quilt and some receiving blankets for them.
Setting up the Wii U tonight, my MIL has Robbie. We went to dinner and were going to see a movie but my IBS started acting up. Robbie will be so surprised tomorrow.
My interview went really well, it is for an insurance company (home/auto) and I would be similar work to what I did at the bank. I will know by next friday.
My good friend has three daughters, two of which have cochlear implants. The youngest does not need one, she hears perfectly fine. I know those implants are very expensive even if insurance takes care of some of it. And the parts that get lost or need to be replaced and paying the insurance on them is also expensive. A wine tasting party would be a nice fundraiser. How would you do it? We are always looking for different fundraiser/donation ideas for our girls' school's annual gala. I didn't feel like committing to donating a dinner this year so we donated a night for 4 ppl at a winery/bed and breakfast we like to go to. We got the two rooms there and got a buffalo steak dinner thrown in. They raise buffalo at the winery. Hopefully it will get on the live auction instead of silent because it will make more money there and we've put quite a bit of money into it. My friend, who is co-chairing, knows us well enough that if it doesn't get put on the live auction, we won't donate again. A different year we'd like to do a martini party at our lake house. We'd have it be for 6 ppl. Since they'd be driving 2 hrs and we'd be providing alcohol we thought it'd be nice to provide a place to stay so my parents offered their lake house since it's within walking distance of ours. We wouldn't serve a dinner, just appetizers. I didn't want to committ to doing it this year since we won't get up to our lake house until the middle of June since we'll be gone with our cruise, then the girls have dance recital the 2nd weekend.
Margaret...did you get the Wii U set up? How do you like it? Sorry you didn't make it to the movie but sounds like you had a nice night with the hubby. Glad to hear the interview went well.
I can't believe how much maternity leave you get in Canada. I think employers are only required to give 6 weeks, anything after that you have to use PTO. I'm not sure though since I've never had to take it. What I don't think is fair is when someone adopts a baby/child, they don't get any maternity leave. I still think they deserve it because they need to bond with that child and there is a lot of adjustments.
The girls are spending the night with my parents tonight while we go to the casino for a fundraiser. It should be a fun night. The hospital ball is also tonight and this is the first year we haven't gone to it. It was actually our first date. But we got the casino invite first, so RSVP'd to that first.

It's pretty nice outside this morning. DH and I went for a walk/jog this morning. It's supposed to be a high of 46 today and a high of 17 tomorrow so quite the temp change.
I ordered this bedding for our bedroom. The rugs are for the bathroom and the paint colors with the marks on them are what we are thinking of doing the bathroom in. Because of bedroom and bathroom kind of run into eachother I wanted to get new bedding to coordinate with the bathroom. So now we are going to paint the bedroom with the bathroom colors. Since we are painting the bedroom, I think we'll recarpet it. One project spirals into another. That way everything will be new. I think the paint and carpet is original to the house, which was built in 1990.
