Marg-I have a cough that is driving me crazy too! I think this is the longest I've ever had a cold. It stinks!
    Meg-that sounds yummy.

AFM-well OB told me that I have to def. wait 6 months to TTC again, which is pretty much what I had said. She told me to go back to the RE as well. So pretty much what I had planned. She wants me to stay with her and she said she would monitor me closely after putting in a cerclage but I'm not. I want to go to a specialist where I know they have a better understanding of what is going on. She warned me that this could happen again which terrifies me. UGH-why is having a baby so hard for us!

Mari...I would go to the specialist also to try to prevent the same thing happening again. I'm sure it's scary to hear that this could happen again.

Mari, I would definitely be seeing a specialist if I was in your place. I always comment about life being unfair and Sean reminds me that life is not supposed to be fair. I see all the teens that are pregnant or with little babies and my heart breaks. I read the news of parent killing their babies/children and I cry. Why does it have to be so hard for those of us who want a baby so bad, that are prepared to make the sacrifices children demand? There are so many times I see things that I just want to grab the baby and run away... Six months seems about the right time to wait. I have friends who are midwives that I could ask if there are natural things you could be doing to help your body heal and prepare for another pregnancy if you wish. Hugs

I have decided that this must be the dreaded man-cold LOL. I feel so sick. This weekend I have my first aid training for girl guides which is 12 hours long - I hope I don't hack up a lung during the training. Monday is a holiday here - Family day. We have plans to go to the Science Centre but if I stay this sick then I will stay home.

Princess Dianna's wedding dress among other articles of clothing are at the West Edmonton Mall until June. I really want to go and see the exhibit sometime soon.

Very well said Margaret in the above post. These are a couple quotes I have on my Facebook that I found in books I read about infertility and child loss...

"The bad things in life open your eyes to the good things you weren't paying attention to before." Unknown

"Just as God may want to use my empty arms to bring me closer to Himself, God may challenge another woman I don't feel "deserves" a baby with such gift so that He can ultimately remind her that He is still God." Jennifer Saake. This one really helped me.

Margaret...I wish we had Family day as a holiday. Hope you get to feeling better soon, esp. so you feel well enough for your class.

We've had a lazy day which is kind of nice since I've been on the go for the past 3 weeks. We went to the library to check out books. I worked on a shutterfly desk calendar for DH. The past 2 years I've made him one for V-day. I didn't get around to getting it done in time this year. He doesn't have a work desk anymore but we can put it at the computer desk at home.

Thank you for the words ladies! They mean a lot!

I've been crampy this morning for whatever reason! We are taking DD to a show in NY today, so she is so excited, and tomorrow we have baking class which is a surprise. If you guys are familiar with the Cake Boss, his team of bakers do classes so we booked it for her. She is a huge fan of his and has no idea! She turned 8 on the 10th and these are her gifts! Can't believe she is 8 already!!!

Lazy days are the best. I pledged to have only lazy days after my loss, and literally sat around by myself for nearly 3 weeks after my loss. It was a huge help. There is nothing like watching crappy daytime TV...LOL!!!

Marg-my mom was a huge princess Di fan that must be wonderful to see. Thanks for the offer and if you ever see them, that would be great!

Mari...sounds like you have a fun weekend planned. How exciting for all of you to take baking class. I can imagine DD will be super surprised.

Lazy days are sometimes the best therapy. I haven't done much yet today either. I picked up a few things in our bedroom. It's very cluttered since lots of bathroom stuff is in there while we are doing the remodel. The bathroom is slow going. I thought we'd see lots of progress when we got home from Nicaragua, but not too much was done. We were hoping it would be dry-walled but we are waiting on the electricial/plumbing to get done and they kind of show up when they want to. They weren't here for 2 days last week. So our contractor is put on hold because he can't do anything until that is done. He was hoping to have it done by Valentine's day, but it's not even close. He joked that he now hopes it done by the 4th of July.

I hate hate hate construction! We vowed that if we move from this house our new house will be move in ready. We literally gutted the ENTIRE house and started from scratch. 2 years later and we are still not done...basement is still gutted. We just haven't had the time and money to finish it. Construction never goes as planned whether it's financially or with the people doing it. We experienced both while doing our house.

The owner of the plumbing/electrical place was just over. He was out of town on Thursday and Friday so wasn't able to check in on his guys. He's not too pleased with his workers at the moment...and neither are we. They have to redo the speaker wiring, some lighting wires and cable that they did wrong or put in the wrong place. They also put a vent fan in a stupid place so that had to be redone. And these are all things DH brought up to the electrician on Friday and the electrician acted like DH was stupid. I'm glad we had them give us a bid so we aren't having to pay for all their screw ups. I know I could never build a house.

My class was postponed late last night! Woot! I finally had to get cough syrup with codeine in it to help with the pain of coughing. Sean and Robbie are on a hike today.

Mari - construction sucks. When my dad and step-mother married they built an addition to her house so I could have a bedroom. I was 11, when I was 23 they sold that house and I am pretty sure that is when everything was finally finished (all the trim etc). They bought another house, tore it down and built a new one, that one they subcontracted more, and it was complete in only a year which was good as they were living in a camper while it was being built! Your daughter is going to have so much fun! I can just imagine her face when she finds out. Robbie is 8 in June and I keep wondering how time has gone by so fast.
