Last night we had the annual school gala. It was a fun time. My sister came with us also.

We really haven't done too much to get ready for spring. It's hard to get in the mood when it's still snowy and cold. I think we are supposed to get snow on Easter. We got the girls' Easter basket stuff done. The Easter Bunny is bringing them Disney gift cards they can use on our cruise.

You guys look great! TFS! Ugh I agree this weather is TERRIBLE!! They are predicting a warmer than average Spring though.

AFM-I got an appt with the MFM doctor for April 16th. Not too far away from now, so let's see what he suggests, I'm very curious!

Marisol...Glad you were able to get an appointment. I'm anxious to hear what they have to offer.

Tonight we have DD1's jazz band concert. It's her first jazz band concert. It should be pretty quick since it's only 7th and 8th grade. We had more snow overnight. I'm so sick of it. It has snowed the last 4 Sunday nights.

DH and I made a Shutterfly book from our Nicaragua trip. I'm not sure if this will work to share it. I'll give it a try.

    No, I couldn't see it.

It's moments like this that make me love my job....

I was having a rough morning, teaching writing to 1st graders is the HARDEST thing to do. In walks a student I had from last year with the most beautiful bouquet of yellow flowers and goes, "Happy Spring, Mrs. Fernandez!" It was awesome, he put a smile on my face the rest of the day! Just had to share!

    Strange...when I click I can see it.

Mari...that was so sweet and thoughtful of your student. I think teaching anything would be the hardest thing to do. Bless you teachers!

We went to "Rachel's Challenge" last night. If it ever comes to area you need to go. All I can say is "WOW"! It's a presentation about Rachel Joy Scott who was the first person killed during the Columbine school shootings. She had written many journals and they presented her 5 challenges:
    1) Eliminate prejudice-look for the best in others
    2) Dare to dream-set goals and keep a journal
    3) Choose positive influences-input determines output
    4) Kind words-little acts of kindness
    5) Start a chain reaction
Her family had found an English paper written a few weeks before her death. In it it said "I have this theory if one person goes out of their way to show compassion, it will start a chain reaction of the same." Rachel had always looked for the best in everyone. When in the hallways of school she looked out for three different types of students...a new student, a student with disabilities and students being picked on. She would go up to that person and talk to them. I can't even put words into everything from last night. During the whole hour long presentation it was dead silent. They had a presentation for middle school and high school yesterday and a community one last night. It really makes me think. At the end of a nigh they had a big banner to sign if you wanted to accept her challenge.

Rachel's Challenge sounds like a good thing.

So, this breakthrough bleeding has been going on for 6 weeks straight! A few times I thought it had stopped but a few hours later more blood. I want to see my doctor but he is away until April 8th! I have tomorrow off and will go to the medicentre, not what I really want to do but this is crazy, I might as well not take the BCP at all... some days are heavier then others but generally I am filling a pad/day (estimating as I am not wearing just one pad in a day).

Margaret...how long have you been on your BCP's? When I started a new kind I bled/spotted straight for about 3 months. I called my doctor and the nurse said it can take 3 months for you body to adjust to the pills. At the 3 month mark I had had enough and stopped taking them. Plus, I ran out of samples and it was going to cost over $100/month. I then was off pills for about 8 months and went back to a different ob/gyn to talk about options...ablation, hysterectomy, BCP, IUD, etc. He started me on a different type of BCP and I've never had a problem with them except for when I started spotting in Nicaragua. They are a monophasic pill, not triphasic like I had been on before. He said the hormone levels in the first kind I was on was not high enough. I tolerate the monophasic pill better because it is a constant level of hormones and I can get a period when I want. I remember when I was younger and I started BCP it took me a few different kinds to find the "right one."

How is the new job going?

the BCP I am on is monophasic and I had no issues for the first 3 months but now am having issues after 4 months (well, now 5 months). I actually did some research and Health Canada is pulling the med due to deaths. Also, it is not really a bcp - it is an acne med - Diane 35.... I was on Demulen 30 for years and it seems like it is the only one that will control my cysts, so will have to get my doctor to prescribe that again.

I am stopping taking it tonight and I think I will wait to see my doctor..just need my work schedule first.

I am really enjoying working at Target. It is a lot more physical and after sitting at a desk for 12 years it is a nice change. The store is really looking awesome and on Monday we start getting stock in and my job really kicks into high gear. I am a little scared of some of the power equipment but that will change as I get more practice.
