DD2 got pink highlights put in her hair today. The stylist only put in 10 foils and when she rinsed and dried it her whole head was bright pink. Her hair obviously really picks up color. So she put blonde highlights in it to tame it down a bit. I think DD is still a little hesitant about it but she's a person that has never done anything to her hair. It's hard enough to get her in for a trim. It's semi-permanent so will fade. Then she'll wish it was more pink. I got 3 pink highlights put in my hair also. With the pink highlights, then fixing that with blonde highlights, my highlights, a trim for DD2 and a bang trim on DD1 she only charged $40. I asked her if she was sure about it. I think she felt a little bad. I'll post a pic of both of us tomorrow.

Ugh, I'm so nervous. They seem to be stalling with the transfer which didn't happen the last two times. I was aksed to call today and when I did, they said "we will call you back." I just got the call and they were like "it might be tomorrow, so call tomorrow at 8:30 am. If not, it might be Friday." WTH? SO I asked her "is everything okay" and she was like "yeah it just depends on the embryos that's all." I'm just worried this might be a bad thing. I hate being a worrier, I really do.

Mari...I'm sure you are so anxious to just know what's going on. How many day transfer were your other IVFs? I'm sure it's all depending on how your embies are looking. If they are looking good, then they'll want to wait until day 5. If they are looking ok, then they'll want to transfer them into you on day 3 because that is the safest place for them. That's what one of my RE's told me. Another clinic I went to they told me that it all depends on the number of embies. If there were under "x amount" then it was a 3dt. I did one 5dt and one 3dt and one was cancelled because of the embies arresting. Update us as soon as you know more.

My girls start school tomorrow. I'll have a 5th grader, 7th grader and an 8th grader. The bigger two will be in middle school. We went to the middle school open house tonight and they seem ready to go. I'm a little ready also. Every year we go out for lunch at the same tea room the day before school. My mom always comes and DH was able to come this year since he wasn't working. It's funny because the ladies that work there always expect us the day before they hear our school is starting. Here is a pic of my family after lunch. You can see the pink hair on me and DD2 (the one standing next to me in pink). Her's is very faint. When we washed our hair this morning our shampoo bubbles were pink. It just shows how fast it will fade. I'm thinking I'm going to want to do all kinds of funky colors in my hair.

That looks awesome!! What beautiful girls you have!!!!! I hope they have a fabulous first day!!!!

UGH huge sigh of relief!! Well I called this morning and I was given the same thing "we have no information, please call back." So now I'm starting to really think this is not gonna happen. Then the actual dr calls me, when I heard her voice I nearly threw up my breakfast.
Well she was calling with good news!! I have 6 embies now, 1 has arrested. 3 are the same quality as the last 2 cycles and they are giving them 1 more day to see what happens. However, 3 are as she said, "strong and outstanding, better than last 2 cycles at this stage." She was basically calling me to give me the heads up that we have a decision to make by tomorrow. Since I have an incompetent cervix, she did not feel comfortable transferring 3 of that good quality beecause at this point "I have a high chance of multiples."

SOOO, I am deciding to still do 2. I think I will take my chances. This time around we have a great doctor who will put the cerclage and monitor me well, and if I get pregnant with twins I'm sure it will be even more monitoring. AHHH.... do you think I'm nuts? What would you do? I just don't want to take the chance, you know.
    Transfer is tomorrow!!

Great news Mari. At this point I would go with 2 and risk the chances of twins. It was great for your doctor to call herself, I am sure that gave you much needed relief. Thoughts and prayers that all goes well tomorrow.

Meg - your daughters are beautiful. I really do think they look like you.

Robbie is worried that he won't be ready for grade 3 he is "studying up". Not sure what that means. He is totally upset that it is still 3 weeks until school starts...

Have had a migraine for over a week now....it is all the storms we are having. I feel like the right side of my head will burst due to all the pressure. UGH!

Sean's employment insurance (that he applied for in FEBRUARY) has finally been approved. It is just a few thousand dollars but a huge help to us at this point.

Mari...that is such awesome news. I don't think you are nuts. I'd transfer two also. With knowing that you have the incompetent cervix they can do the appropriate monitoring for you. Good luck tomorrow!

Margaret...a few thousand dollars is great! Sorry you've had a headache for such a long time. That's funny that Robbie is getting ready for 3rd grade. DD2 and I won a mother/daughter look a like contest a few years back. All of us have the Norwegian/German heritage so I'm sure that's where we look alike.

The girls are in their first day of school. We went to the middle school open house and they messed up DD2's schedule. She was supposed to be in advanced math and they put her in regular math. They were going to fix it last night so she didn't know her schedule until she got to school. DH and I went to coffee, mass, out for lunch and met with our financial advisor. Soon we'll pick them up.

Trasnfer complete. We transferred 2. This is by far the worst part...ugh. BUT I will try not to worry. Tomorrow is my bday and we are going to dinner. I really don't want to do much. I just want to relax at home, like I am now. Just laying on sofa watching TV. After the transfer I laid a good 15 minutes and literally went into tears because I had to pee so badly. The nurse wouldnt show up so I got up and went to the bathroom. I think I would have definitely peed on myself if I didn't go. So then of course I got nervous that I got up but she told me not worry about it.

Official pregnancy test is on the 26th, but of course I will test before then.
