Oh, Meg to answer your earlier question I am not planning on leaving this board. I mean I could not stay away for a day. I am so happy that I can talk to you ladies so openly about everything and know that you'll pass along your honest opinion without judgement. And the best thing is you don't always agree with me and that is great. My SIL, who I love like a sister, will agree with everything I say or do just to please me. Then I'll find out later that she feels or thinks differently, usually thru different channels, and that bugs the c*ap out of me. :)
Funny you mention the duck decoy Jenni. We've had one in the pond ever since we moved in 5 years ago. I guess our neighbor threw it in there as a joke to the old owner's of the house. We took it out this year when we were cleaning it out because it looked ugly. Maybe it really did help. I don't mind the ducks as long as they don't eat our fish and poop all over. Maybe they'll leave. They aren't there all the time.
I like to cook and try different things. I'll have to check out that book.
DH and I will probably go out for lunch. He took the day off as we have a doc appt to go to. Idk where we'll go. Depends on how much time we have between the doc appt and when I have to go to work.
Yum...I just looked at the cookbook and the first few pages. It all looked so good! Let us know how you like it.
I got it for Christmas last year. I LOVE it. That is something that I am looking forward to - getting back into the kitchen. I made cookies last night for a work thing and it felt great (all things considered). I'm always on the hunt for new recipes!

Say what you mean and mean what you say. I may not like it, but I'd rather deal with that than playing mind games. I read a book a few years ago that changed my life. It's in the context of Christianity since I read it as part of some intensive training I did to be a lay-counselor (Stephen Minister if anyone is familiar with the program). I even gave it to MIL a month ago or so
What kind of cookies did you make Jenni? I don't bake as much as I cook. Partly because if I bake something, then I have to eat it. We are stealing snacking on the Easter candy. It has to stop soon. I feel like I am so much more munchy. I think it's because I'm being more conscious of what I'm eating after starting BCP. I feel like I've gained wt but I just think it's bloating making me feel fat. What I did a couple nights last week was brush my teeth early in the night. If I brushed my teeth then I wouldn't eat because they were clean. Too bad that doesn't work for the morning brushing.
I'm glad you're staying Mimi. I can't stay away from this board either. That's why I'm still here 2 years later.
Choc chip cookies. I love to bake and usually can "farm out" my goodies ;) I try to keep my bro and his GF stocked with frozen cookie dough balls. That way, they can just take a few out and bake them whenever they want. Baking is very therapeutic for me. I might even do some baking this weekend. Any takers? ;)
Cookies, YUMMY!!!! I will eat any kind of cookie, they are my favorite food. I am not much of a baker. I bake amazing bread, but I let my bread maker do the kneading and I just make it into the loaves and bake. I bake bread every Sunday, I let it cool, slice it, bag it and freeze it. That way we always have fresh bread on hand. I can bake really good lemon meringue pie and cheesecake. Decorating cakes is not something I can do and it frustrates me that it is not perfect so I stay away from that. Now how does one bake soft cookies? Mine always come out crunchy and I like them that way too, but I would really like to know how to make them soft. Last weekend when I went grocery shopping I got some peanut butter chips so I could bake some peanut butter/chocolate chip and walnuts cookies. Or walnut peanut butter chip cookies and dip one half in chocolate??
I'm horrible at making bread. That is DH's job. I tried to make cinnamon rolls one time and the dough didn't turn out. DH was able to save the dough and fix what didn't work and made them.
Usually I bring desserts places so I can bake. I like to do pies, cheesecakes, etc. I don't make my own crusts though. Tried that and failed also.
The walnut PB chip cookies dip in chocolate sound amazing. I envisioning a picture of them so you better take one with the great photo skills :)
One more question :) What food will you not eat no matter what and why?
Pork - we are not allowed to eat it
Blue cheese of any kind - If it smells like feet I will not eat it
Oysters - no reason other then they look yucky
Any exotic meat (like frogs, bugs, alligator, snakes) - Do I need a reason???
Marzipan - I can smell it from a mile away and the smell makes me feel sick to my stomach.
