A friend who tutors for a living, thus has days off, spent the day with me today. We did really boring stuff. She kept me company while I shopped at target (cat food), threw out bad food and did laundry. It is so much easier to get that stuff done with a friend. I did take her out to lunch, but basically she is taking pity on me for the a) no coffee thing and b) no wine thing. I really want to get back to exercising if IVF did not work out this cycle. I bought some tupperware for making some portion controlled lunches and dinners. And we bought lots of yummy fruits and vegetables.
Tomorrow is a long day at work. I will be glad not to think about IF for a day.
Tiffany...sounds like you've had a productive day. That's a good idea to use the tupperware. I eat a lot more healthy when I have fruits and veggies cut up in my fridge. Much better for snacking.
National Chocolate Chip Day-that is awesome. I don't have any because if I have a bag, I just eat handfuls until they are gone.
The yardwork sounds like a lot of work, but it is usually rewarding. At our old house, I did so much to our yard and I loved it. Sad to leave. Now we have a new house in a much warmer climate, so I need to figure out what to do, and also save the money to do it!
I just looked at the pretty flowers Jenni. Hydrangeas?
Does anyone know anything about estrogen levels after the transfer? I just got word than mine were high, so I don't need to do the patches/pills but need to go in two days for more bloodwork. So far, progesterone is okay with the supplements I'm on so thankfully no prometrium, yet. I tried to look it up but there really isn't much info out there. I am just thinking maybe it's still high because it was so much higher on stims this time than last. Trying not to read into it too much.....but wondering. At any rate, it's two less things to be doing.
Just did ET, it went well. There's still 6 embies, but they picked the best 3 to put inside one. I can see why they hesitated about any discussion with regards to freezing the remainder. Gonna go post on my update thread. Relaxed at home after going to Wendy's for a Frosty.
Today is Chocolate Chip Day? Man, if it wasn't so hot today, I would suggest DH make some chocolate chip cookies - he makes awesome ones.
Kara, that's nice you don't need to go on estrogen or prometrium. It's such a pain trying to keep track of extra pills when I already take so many other pills. Not only that, it's a bother to have to go to the washroom at set times "to shove things up my hoo-ha". At least it's not painful, and I was really worried it would be. I don't have any bloodwork scheduled other than my pg test on May 30.
Tiffany, I've been suffering from the no coffee thing for a couple of days now, so I know how you feel. I'm very sad to only be able to order a milk steamer when everyone around me gets to order fancy lattes and whatnot. Glad you took it easy today and hung out with a friend. I was thinking about going back to work tomorrow for a course, but then I said screw it! I'm just gonna take it easy at home. Besides it's not like there aren't things there I could do (without overdoing it of course) at home....
Megan, M&Ms sound so yummy - I would say they're like chocolate chips! I didn't realize you take violin lessons - that's awesome! I've always wanted to learn a musical instrument...but I just am too active yet to want to sit down with play an instrument.
Jenni, both pics of the flowers you rec'd are stunning, <3 it! I agree with Kara, I'm wondering if they are hydrangeas as well.
Kara...I wouldn't worry too much about the estrogen levels. They are probably still high from the stims. I don't think it's really monitored too much after ER. Glad you don't need to do any additional progesterone. What are you doing now?
Sophia...glad ET went well. I always cut off caffeine and alcohol when I started BCP with my cycles. I hated the first few days of no caffeine. I'd get the worst headache. Now I only drink a cup or two of coffee a day. I've cut back a lot. I used to drink the "fufu" coffee (as DH calls it) but it seemed I always got an upset stomach later in the day. So I decided to just drink plain coffee at the coffeeshop. Plus it's cheaper and no calories. I did get a fancy coffee with SIL and my stomach was fine. Learning to play violin was always on my bucket list. This is my 4th year of lessons. My teacher and I have a lot of fun with it. I don't really practice too much though.
We got a new battery for the mower!
Congrats on being PUPO! Take care of yourself.
Glad the appt went well Kara.
Yes - both of my flowers are hydrangeas (the one FIL gave me and Mom gave me). They are hands down my favorite flowers. Dinner was good. Bad storms here for the 2nd night. We need the rain though. Could do w/o the thunder and lightening. Have a good night!
Meg- BCP made me bleed A LOT! I had to eventually go off of them. I was getting 2 week periods every month, and not a light flow, I was bleeding pretty heavily. I don't think BCP are for everyone! :bighug:
AFM, I'm just anxious. DH had his 2nd SA yesterday.... Glad we got that taken care of. I got the clearance letter from the dr about my blood pressure. Just waiting for the RE to call me back with the results.
There have been some studies associating caffeine intake with infertility. Not sure if I could really give up coffee for a year just to see if we would get pregnant on our own. I've been completely caffeine free for more than a week and I am still exhausted. We do have male infertility issues, but they are obviously not insurmountable. And we will never know if there is an endometriosis issue. Of course 2 years of trying suggests it won't but you never know. I think after 2 years of trying, 30% of women still get pregnant on their own during year 2-3. After year 3, that number falls off sharply.
Sophia - the pills are better than shots. I am sure you are used to taking quite a regimen. If things don't work out, it is something I am looking forward to - no pills for awhile. Of course I hope there is a reason I have to take those pills and suppositories for the next several weeks. I hope your 3 embies make to to freezing so you can have a little piece of mind during the 2ww.
Meg - I, too, could not sit long enough for violin lessons. Kudos. I am sure that is not easy.
I got lots of flower shopping done with my mom. We went to a greenhouse that had a ton of flowers for cheap. 4 packs of annuals for $1. Everywhere else they are double that. I need to go tomorrow and find some millet to put in my pots and some grass to put in others. I planted my petunias but am waiting to plant the rest. We had lunch at a cute little restuarant. We had a very productive day!
My violin teacher and I talk a lot. We probably play for only 1/2 of the time she is here. It's not a strict lesson. We just play through music. She likes it also because it gives her practice on the piano since she doesn't have one at home. The funny thing is she doesn't know how to play violin but she can teach it. Her kids play very well and they were taught the Suzuki method which teaches the parents also.
Marisol...hope you hear back from the doc soon about the results.
Hope that everyone is doing well today. Appt today went alright. It was difficult to retell our entire story but glad to have done it. I think it's going to be helpful. DH comes home today - picking him up in about 2 hours. We are headed to another BBQ competition this weekend - this time in VA. Should be fun. My kindle cover came last night - I'll try to get pics and put it on the blog (DH is my technical advisor so no him = no pics ). Take care!
