Glad to hear the appt went well Jenni. I hope you found a good "fit" with your counselor. Mine is not a specialist in infertility and I sought her out for different reasons, but it turned out she had infertility herself, 20+years ago. I just got a kindle too. Got my cover yesterday, it's red. BBQ competition-sounds yummy.

neoncandle-I totally gave up coffee among other things when I went on an endometriosis diet last year. The whole diet was really hard and I missed coffee so much. I stuck the diet out for a really long time because the doctor who gave it to me really thinks if you follow this diet, you can prevent most of the endo symptoms and I would get pg naturally. I gave it up pretty much when I got so discouraged about not getting pg. Now I don't stress about it and if I want it, I drink it. It was really hard to give up so much for so long (especially sweets-that was a big no-no on the diet), and then not getting pg....kind of not worth it for sure. I don't have a ton of GI symptoms with my endo, especially since surgery, but I know for some people it's awful and the diet really helps.

Meg, flowers sound lovely, as does lunch!

Marisol-hope you are getting everything figured out with insurance and all today.

Sophia-thinking good thoughts for you after your transfer. Are you on bedrest?

I had more bloodwork this AM. Progesterone is fine and so is estrogen, so no additional medications, yet. I am just doing endometrin 3x/day. Spent the day putting laundry away and trying to get the house put back together after my 1 almost 1/2 weeks of lying on the couch. No easy task.

Jenni...have fun at the BBQ competition. Hope you get to try lots of yummy food.

Kara...glad your bloodwork was good today. It's so hard to play catch up in the house after not doing anything for so long. I need to catch up tomorrow and I have no excuse for getting behind.

I was going to plant the rest of my flowers today but it is too darn windy out. I did end up planting them and have the pots in the garage. Tonight DH and I are going to go to "Downtown Sounds." They close mainstreet and have live music, some food and beer. We'll go listen to the music and have a beer. They do it every month in the summer.

I go back to my ob/gyn tomorrow for a follow up after starting BCP. Idk what he is going to say. I was good the first month, no spotting, 2nd month bleed the whole pack, this month spotting off and on. I'm hoping he's going to say my body is still getting used to them because I tolerate them well other than the bleeding and they are cheap. I do notice i have a bit more acne at times though. I know taking them the way I am without a break makes you more prone to spotting. The one thing I've noticed is I don't get headaches anymore while on BCP. I'd like to ask him if I can get an ablation but still take the BCP for hormone replacement.

Good morning ladies and Happy Friday! How are you all doing?

I'm ok, tired and wishing I could sleep more at night. I'm having a bit of a hard time falling asleep. I have been able to nap sometimes during the day, but next week I'm going back to work and can't nap during the day anymore! I've been a little bored the first couple of days post-transfer, since I was told to take it easy. However, we did meet MIL for lunch the first day post-transfer so that was nice. Been most resting and reading books and a LOT of online stuff. Yesterday was 3rd day post-transfer so I could do a few more things, as long as it was within restrictions for the 2ww. I did some laundry and cleaned up some clutter. (CHILD MENT) Kicked around a soccer ball with DH and DD; we just got DD a soccer ball so she's been VERY excited. Today, I'll be resting again b/c I had insomnia last night and couldn't sleep until 3:30 am; in the afternoon, I'll meet some friends for coffee downtown, and will slowly walk it there.

Meg...what's an ablation? It will be interesting to see what your OB says about your situation. Me and bcp's don't do well, I find myself bleeding half the time and it sucks.

Kara, I'm not on bedrest but the 1st 48 hrs, I did take it real easy, didn't do any housework or anything much. I did go out and have lunch with MIL and DH the first day post-transfer. How are you feeling? I hear you on the laundry and housework...I'm forcing myself to take lots of rest breaks and multiple trips moving laundry from the hamper to the laundry room so that I'm not lifting anything heavy. That's cool that you have Kindle!

*hugs* Jenni. I'm glad your appt went well. Sounds like you have an exciting weekend coming up!

Tiffany, (CHILD MENT) I stopped drinking coffee while TTC #1 and 6 mths later I got pg with DD. So I dunno if I was lucky, or maybe had little to no endo OR it was b/c I didn't drink coffee. But other than the endo, the only difference between this TTC #2 and last time was that I have been drinking coffee now and wasn't during TTC #1. Now that I got this far with IVF, I decided it was better to skip coffee, hoping to maximize my chances.

Hoping you all have a good weekend! I dunno what we will be doing, since it will be a long weekend for us in Canada. Staying in town is most likely one of them though. Anyone have plans for the weekend?

Good luck at the appt Meg. I hope that you are able to get everything straightened out and that it's what is best for you.
Sorry about the insomnia. A few months back, I had a lot of trouble with waking up during the night to check the clock. I finally had to unplug my alarm clock (DH's is a 2-alarm clock) and I haven't had much trouble since then. When DH was gone this week, I slept closer to his side of the bed (shh, don't tell ) and found myself waking up more and more to check the clock.

Enjoy the long weekend. Hi to everyone else!

Actually getting clocks out of the bedroom is one treatment/option for insomnia. When you have a clock you wake up and look at it and get anxious that you are not sleeping. Also, when you look at the clock, then look at it again later, you feel like you've been awake that whole time when in actuality you probably did sleep. So ppl say "I was up from 2-5" when they did sleep some inbetween. My DH has to teach this to his pts that have insomnia. I took the clock out a long time ago and it has really helped.

My doc kept me on the same BCP which is what I was hoping. He said it can take a while for the body to adjust. Also, if I notice more bleeding/spotting I can stop taking my pills and take a few days off to get a period. So I can basically choose when I want a period. I think I'm going to do that after the weekend. I can take off anywhere from 2-5 days just to shed my lining. An ablation is when they burn your endometrium. It's used for ppl with heavy periods. In some ppl it stops their period all the way and in others makes it a lot lighter. It does make you infertile though. Not that I'm fertile to begin with. That wasn't an option he gave me this time. His options he gave me other than taking a break and getting a period were to do the depo shot or the Mirena IUD. Both of those are out as I'm afraid of wt. gain on depo and the IUD wouldn't help my headaches or moods since it's a localized hormone just in the uterus. The nurse said I didn't gain any wt which I'm glad about. I told her to not even tell me because I couldn't remember what I weighed last time.

    CHILDREN MENTIONED....
This weekend we have dance recital for the girls. Tonight is dress rehearsal and tomorrow night is the recital. I'll be so happy when it's done. They are each in 4 different dances so it will be busy with lots of costume changes (12 of them). Sunday will be used to rest and relax. Their last day of school is Monday. They get out at 12:25. They should've been done yesterday but they had 2 snow days to make up. It stinks to have to go back on just a Monday.

    Default Pregnancy mentioned...

Urine preg test is strongly positive today, 9 days post transfer. I think this means it is twins. Anyway, beta is tomorrow but I am not dreading it as much. And I feel a lot better about the sacrifices I have made to get to this point. I am still worried, but happy.

    Default child ment

Good morning ladies. I have to work some this weekend but should be able to do some fun things too. Had dinner with a friend, her 3 year old and her dad. My friend is taking DS to gymnastics while we go get our blood test. Then wait for results. There is a food festival near here that we might go to today and a farmer's market.

Wish the doctor would clear me for swimming as that is our normal weekend activity. We also have some cleaning and laundry to do.

I've got nearly constant cramps, but I remember having that with DS.

Good luck today Tiffany!! Update us with your beta as soon as you can. Sounds like you had a fun evening last night.

I remember not being able to swim for like 6 weeks. It didn't really affect me as I'm not a huge swimmer but at times when it was really hot it would've been nice to lounge in the lake.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Sat was...interesting. I ended up window shopping for about 4 hrs instead of staying at the place - fine by me though. This week is a little busy. I have my 2nd appt this afternoon and DH and I have our "debriefing appt" on Thursday with the head RE. I have a feeling that we won't be able to do anything until at least August (DH is out-of-town for basically all of July and we think that it's too late for June since it takes a few weeks on BCP). We'll see though. At this point I know that a few months won't matter but the thought of having to wait any longer just plain stinks. Oh well. What can you do?
